To what extend do you agree or disagree

What do you think would affect the affiliate marketing business? It seems little affected by any economic situation due to different countries, right?

It would seem it all comes down to two things. If they understand the language, probably English and they have the money to purchase the product, then you will do well anywhere in the world. The only problem is in many countries you get serial refunders buying the product and requesting a refund after they have downloaded it so they can share it with friends.

Yes Language can be a barrier ,and those serial refunders are really a pain , even some of them are so smart that they sell product (mainly info products) to local market at high rates in local currency.

That would be logical. If a nation is spending less, then affiliate marketing revenues ought to be down too. But that is a broad assessment - some niches are evergreen, and others may boom because of the belt-tightening (e.g. switching from cigarettes to e-cigs, buying low-cost heaters to save on energy bills, etc.)

Affiliate marketing would greatly be affected by a massive world-wide power outage.

        or an EMP

As long as there are products and consumers, there will be affiliate marketing. I don't think one countries recession or economic downturns can completely offset an entire business model like affiliate marketing globally.

People's perceptions may vary... as is so when your broke and everything seems stacked against you. But when money is flowing and business is good, you're in a totally different mindset.

I think the same goes for large scale business, while the US (for example) may be experiencing difficulty in specific markets (like real estate for example) other areas are up - like gold and other commodities [coughs] ... like oil prices.

There's a balance, but it's only viewable within the perception of the person, or people willing to adapt from the overall perception. Another words, if the US is in a recession per se, and the majority freak out, then the majority will fear spending or likely reduce their ill spending habits. (*Maybe, lol)

"Carpe diem' - those who seize the day, will go out and buy up all kinds of stuff for far less than face value, full well knowing it will hold a greater value once things balance out...and wait for the right time and place to capitalize on their investment(s).

Affiliate marketing IMHO is being able to position oneself in the company of the latter, and provide the 'consumers' who are 'seeking' with valuable solutions, and by knowing how/when/where to pair those seekers with providers who can deliver (or over-deliver) those solutions, benefits, and value to the end user.

Honestly, it doesn't even require power or an internet to do 'affiliate marketing' - you can do this offline with anything... if you position yourself right.

lol. you people don't remember a few years ago when everything slowed down. Yeah we had more people in the forums and stuff but less people spending money.

Alot of people left IM for a while till it cooled down.
And when the U.S. is effected by economic turmoil the majority of the world is effected.
Other wise foreign dollars wouldn't go up and down with the U.S. economy status.
