ezine articles + google sand box

Does the google sandbox only apply to your own websites or ezine articles articles aswell?

For example im trying to boost my ezine articles to page 1 of google do i have to follow the 5-10 links a day natural organic growth or can i blast it to 100+ directories and not expect to get sand boxed?

    Vanquish,

You're going to get different opinions on this answer.

But here's mine for what it's worth.

And as just a little background, I teach a private training service that revolves exclusively around article marketing. I'm only saying this because I have a lot of experience and tested all sorts of ways to do article marketing.

I still have not found any disadvantage to submitting the same exact articles to multiple directories. People often think it's going to create a duplicate content penalty but it doesn't.

What I find happens is that the article will get ranked sometimes higher at EzineArticles (usually the case) and sometimes higher at another article directory.

Why doesn't Google penalize/sandbox it if it's the same content/article appearing at a bunch of directories? Well, I simply think they are just smart enough to recognize these directories will often have duplicate content because people submit them there for all sorts of reasons, including syndication.

Some of my students have really good results when their articles appear at ArticleAlley.com. Some have good results at GoArticles.com

But of course the mack daddy is EzineArticles.com, which of course, is by far the best because Chris Knight is an incredible innovator.

However, I do advise my students to submit to EzineArticles and wait for the article to get accepted there first before they think about submitting it to other directories. Technically you shouldn't have to do this but one student ran into a problem I won't get into here, but that's my advice in any case.

    Regards,
    Dan

For what it's worth, and for other reasons left unmentioned, I agree wholeheartedly with what Dan has said.

(Except the part about submitting to EZA first)

      Allen,

Just out of curiosity, why don't you recommend submitting to EZA first? Because of the time it takes for approval to happen and go live?

No, actually it stems from the powers that be knowing who the original content belongs to. I'll shoot you one of my newsletters that discusss it in detail.

      Allen,

      Cool. I appreciate it.

Well, I guess I'll elaborate a bit since I didn't on my original post.

EZA as you know doesn't require content only appear on their site. They allow you to submit to other directories, and theirs as well. As long as you own the rights to the content and it's submitted under the same name it appears elsewhere.

One of my students wrote an article, submitted it to another article directory where it went live fast, then tried submitting it later to EzineArticles.

Some thief saw his article at the first directory and submitted it to EZA under his name.

So when my student -- the honest guy -- went to submit his own article, they rejected it and actually suspended his account saying he was submitting someone else's content.

My student then had to prove that he in fact own the article and pulled up the original article he had submitted to the other directory and EZA restored his account.

The whole ordeal was so stressful, especially since the thief was at first benefitting at the expense of the honest student, that I started recommending students to wait for their articles to go live at EZA before submitting elsewhere.

So that's my rationale for anyone who cares to know it.

      Regards,
      Dan

Your original and best content should ALWAYS reside and be published first on your own VRE. That's what Allen meant, if I can speak for him

      Hi Allen,

Read your newsletter. I agree with it. Interesting. It doesn't apply to my service, however, for the simple reason that for the vast majority of my students 100% of the traffic is driven by article marketing. We use one page landing pages that do the "presell" so it doesn't matter if those landing pages are even ranked in Google at all.

My service is hyperfocussed. Chris Knight doesn't realize it but with only 150 students I drive THOUSANDS of articles to his directory every month (the vast majority of which are approved).

It's funny. I'm at your website right now and one of the featured articles that appears on the right side is one of my students articles.

That shows you the reach my service has with only 150 members.

I am in a radical revamping of my service and intend to grow it into the thousands. It may be worthwhile for us to talk on the phone in the next few days and see how we might be able to work together.

I have to head off to do some work now before bed, but drop me a line anytime at dan@mosaicinternetsuccess.com

      Regards,
      Dan

When I first started a few weeks ago with article directory submissions, I was kinda shocked at the idea of submitting several re-written versions of one article to different directories. Now you guys are telling me we can submit the same article to several directories without even bothering to rewrite it? I gotta tell you guys I'm quickly un-learning a lot of things I accumulated from school, because I think the ones I'm learning here in the real world works.

google wont penalize but will it hurt the ranking of the ezine? like instead of being #2, you'll be #8 cuz the article is a dupe.

Why don't you put the original article on your site, then rewrite it or spin it for the directories?
