Hi Warriors,

Did you heard the news regarding Facebook plans in buying Drones to use as the internet for the rest of the people in the world without access in the Internet. It has almost the same idea as the Google's loon project which they will be using balloons to give internet to everyone.

What is your reaction about this? Can this innovations help us internet Marketers to have more traffic and generate more sales? will this be beneficial to all? Please share your thoughts.

Aaron

I don't think it will. People who do not have internet do not have money. It will help in some of the out of reach places where people do have internet and don't get service but I am sure those drones won't be in those places.

It will help alot of people in the poverty level though get internet and it will open more free internet for the ones that do have to pay.

You have a point there mate. SO do you think this is a purely noble cause? You know for a fact that in every campaigns there are commercial reasons behind it do you?

I think this will still be a great opportunity for both ends as it will open more information channel and eventually selling or promoting will takes place.

No I think its not noble. I think they plan on profiting from it some way. If you give free internet what are you really giving them. Do you think google will not make you sign up and put ads that you like up, or amazon and do the same. Its all profit motivated and very ingenious.

Yes they will be helping alot of underprivileged people but they know people with money will want free internet too and that is what they will capitalize on.

Guarantee you when you agree to the tos to get the free internet it will say they can put cookies on you and track you and place ads that pertain to your internet habits.

Yes mate you are right but generally will this step help us in having a lot of opportunities? I read that the free internet from Facebook will be have a "limited" data access so that means more users but less exposure. Will this give us more opportunities? What do you think?

I don't think it will make much of a difference to us. Like I said the ones not on the net can't afford to be on the net so they won't be able to afford us anyways.

We might get more people in our blogs and forums and such but for people with money, I do not think it will make much of a difference.

Yes I think so but still they are traffic. And we want traffic, more traffic=conversions and conversions mean money. It still think it will benefit us by means of having a larger scope of internet traffic.

Quality traffic is measured by its authenticity, if its REAL it's a quality traffic. And with more internet scope means more quality traffic.

Advertising companies buy visitors to their site looking not just with the number of visitors but also with the quality of the visitors.

No not really. I can get all the third world country traffic I want but if they don't have money they don't have money. I can't get blood from a turnip it just doesn't work, so now your stuck with traffic that drives your epc down and raises your server cost.

You have a good point bro hustlinsmoke. I think the opportunity will come knowing a lot of people are fond of "freebies".

But still, this is a big step in the field of Internet. I am happy that Facebook and Google are doing their part to help reach the unreachable. We do not know what their real agendas are, but still this campaign will help millions of people on the other side of the world.
