| Anyone know how to interpret % referred in Clickbank in order to find out who is making the most amount of money out of this 79%? (Merchant or Affiliates) E.g if 79% refd: would this mean that 21% of the sales are coming from the Merchant? Hence the Merchant is making the most amount of money? OR E.g if 79% refd: would this mean that 79% of the sales are coming from the Affiliates? Hence the Affiliates are making the most amount of money? But: say if there were 1000 affiliates contributing to this 79% refd. Then this would mean the affiliates are not making much money at all individually I.e 79%/1000? So who is making the most money out of this 79% refd? ![]() |

Well it depends how much % the vendor is giving affiliates: It makes sense that if a vendor has 25% refered and are offering 75% to affiliates that the vendor and affilates are making exactly the same amount. So if the vendor has 50% refered and is offering 50% reacurring ( thats the only way I would promote a product on CB that only gives 50% to aff's) then vendor and aff's making the same. Hope that makes sense. Daniel |

Sorry guys. I'm pretty sure that 79% referred means that 79% of the vendor's traffic comes from affiliates. That's all. It's got no bearing on how much anyone is earning. -David Raybould |

$Referred is defined as the 'fraction of vendor's total sales that are referred by affiliates' The $Referred figure alone cannot tell you that. You need to take into account the figure %Earned/Sale defined as 'Average percentage commission earned per affiliate per referred sale. This number should only vary if the vendor has changed their payout percentage over time' Harvey |

| You can easily estimate this from the figures provided: for example, if 79% of the sales are "referred" (accredited to affiliates) and the commission is 75%, then that means the affiliates are currently making 59% of the money, and the publisher 41% (because 59% is 75% of 79%). But bear in mind two other things:- (i) Those are percentages of the wholesale price after CB have deducted their 7.5% profit and $1 "stocking-fee" (it's a whole lot cheaper than any stockings I've ever bought). (ii) The commission percentage you see now may not always have been the percentage offered to affiliates, and these figures will mislead you if that's changed recently. |
