Safe Swaps. Did I get Bamboozled?

Or perhaps double crossed? Maybe doohickied?

Bought 100 clicks to a health/fitness list. $38. I read on another thread here that if you get many of your clicks from 'None' or "no referrer" they're probably bogus. Here's what I got:

You received 111 unique clicks.
Referrers
6 -------- 5.4% Mail
0 -------- 0% Web
105 ------ 94.6% None

So what do you think, did I get the wool pulled over my eyes, punked, fooled-once, jipped, taken for a ride?

Exactly. That is what happened. Cheated, tricked, fooled.

I have a good looking squeeze page with video and an optin and I did get like 6 optins to my list. Yes, 6 individuals. It's basically a video in the health niche and if you want to see the rest, you optin. I removed the double optin.

That instantly takes them to the vendor's page where the whole video plays and is full of testimonials, exit popups, etc.

Should I still stick with solo ads or anyone have a better suggestion for traffic?

      ~~ help please

Solo ads are risky, I believe people should build or scrape their own lists which can even be cheaper and provide fresh leads. I think they are no different than buying social media shares from a broker claiming they are real engaging people.

Why not scrape your own? you have no idea whose gonna see them.

What was your opt-in rate? If 6 subs or less, then yes those "none" referrers likely are bogus traffic.

As i understand it yahoo mail and i think aol are the only ones that show up in most click trackers. Forget about tracking gmail or hotmail as those tend to be encrypted, especially gmail.

At the moment my only true red flags are hyper low opt-in rate or if i see referrers like adfly or buzzcity.

Yup 6 optins out of 100 visitors very likely means that it's fake traffic. The few optins you got could very well have been the seller's fake/inactive email accounts.

However, it could also be your page. Try a few more solos with some other sellers and see how those fare. We make not like to hear it, but our pages always seem extremely awesome to us, but not-that-awesome to 90% of our visitors.

If you don't want to risk your money, it's better if you avoid Safe Swaps. There are many great solo ad providers here on the forum. And you can also find solo ad review sites, you can check my favorite one here.

You might want to also look at your server logs for IP records.
