Would you add them to your list?

Hey Guys,

Just a quick question, if someone contacted you via the contact form on your website, would you add them to your list?

Just curious what you guys do.

Thanks

  • No! Not unless you ask them, and they gave you permission either in writing, or you have a check box added to your contact form where they tick the box with the understanding that they are now subscribing to your emails once they press send.

I would definitely add them to some kind of list or sales management system.

If they have contacted you then they are a red hot lead. Just cause they don't make a purchase right away doesn't mean that you shouldn't stay in touch with them and build a relationship.

Who knows, 2 years down the line they could turn into a $2k a month client.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

No... at least not to your auto responder and it really depends on the nature of the email or their inquiry.

If they specifically asked to be placed on a list... then do so...

If there was no mention of it... don't.

If it was an inquiry about your products/services... then answer the email and tell them, for more info, please go here <--- this leading to a squeeze page or web form where they can subscriber to your list.

No, not unless the form states they will be added to a list.

The correct answer is of course No. The wrong unethical answer is Yes.

Doesnt matter if you ask or not any AR company will make them double optin. So even if you add them they have to say its okay and it probably won't happen unless you two agreed and then it probably still won't happen because people just do not follow through.
