  • Use email marketing services such as aweber to tell your clients you have something new to offer or you have improved your past service and you can bring more value to them.

Are there any other approach other than offering something new, giving them promos/discounts, etc.?

This is something my friend asked me, this is not my service or my product I just want to help him and give him some advice.

I know he's in the web traffic industry and he has around 1k database of old clients. Offering new products or promos are somehow common, he is asking for some new approach.

Reach out again in a warm friendly manner. If it has been quite some time since you contacted some of these clients but you can remember any details concerning their lives/interests, reference these too in your communications. If you are genuine in tone, without being pushy, and connect on that personal level, you may be surprised how keen they are to stay in touch.

Get more info from your friend. Unless you can give us info, how can we suggest ideas?

You could do a survey asking them what help they require and then answer there questions and base future products on their answers.

If lots of your clients didn't buy from you again, then you need to figure out why they didn't buy from you. See what can be improved. Improve your service. Make sure you are ready to provide more quality in your services. If too many clients didn't return to you again, it clearly means that there is something missing in your service.
Contacting them with the same value of service as before would not win them back.
First improve value in service and only then contact them.
Contacting in friendly manners or offering them with discounts alone will not bring them back until your improve value and quality in what ever you are offering.

I would reach out to them once again. If you get some replies, then tell them about your new product. Don't push it on them.

If your replies are minimal or at zero, I would start selling again to new customers and then when you do get new customers, offer them upsells right away after they purchase. That's when they are HOT and ready to buy more.

Thank you for all your comments and suggestions.

I guess I'll be suggesting him to send them an email and make sure it will sound more personal and ask them how are they (to make it look like a little chitchat, I do not want to sound like someone who just need a sale). And luckily if someone replied, that's the time he should be offering a new product or big discount because he has been part of his journey as an online seller, etc. etc.

In that way, I think they will feel that I am not just after the sale but I am looking for a relationship.

Old clients can come back to you if you handle them correctly, approach them and give them exciting offers, discounts ect. you have to give something to them if you want to win their hearts.

    Hello,
I think with new sales leads you have the time and expense of finding customers from scratch.

As long as you have kept good records of customers, you will know their buying habits. If you don't already have a system that stores this information, you need to set one up to retain future customers' purchasing behavior.

Send them a casual, friendly and sincere email asking how they've been doing, how's their businesses and their family life. You may also inform them that you are free to touch-base with them on anything they think you can be of help.

Have some promos. For example, you may email them about a discount if they will like your fan page.

My way is to be the creator of different products that require ongoing support services and I provide both free and paid support services. The majority of my customers buy my main products, but I advise them to not buy another product from me until they earn an income. Some of the customers only buy one of the main products and sticks to that main product, and earns a decent recurring income. However, the same customers usually want support or upgrades to the main product to earn more income and that in many ways wins back old clients.

Having a personal communication with each one them will take so much time but I guess it will worth the effort.

The value of personal effort is incomparable when it comes to selling or servicing.
