Don't be fooled by this...

So I just had someone of decent reputation on the forum (who shall remain nameless) PM me, with something I could only laugh at... this was their message:

So... here's the deal.

(Name) wants to promote your offer to his list.

... just not as your affiliate.

Think of him more like eBay, the Amazon Marketplace, or Etsy.

Here's how it works:

(Name)'s affiliates send him their leads and he converts them into buyers.

To do that, he needs offers to put in front of these leads.

... and not just any offer either.

We need offers with solid EPC's, low refunds and good feedback... which is why I reached out to you.

We think your offer would be a great fit for our system and wanted to offer it to our list.

So... here's what we'd like to do:

#1 - Host your sales letter on our site
#2 - Add your offer (including upsells) to our shopping cart
#3 - Collect 100% of the frontend and upsell sales
#4 - Send our buyer leads to your download page so you can pitch them your other offers or send them to an affiliate offer
#5 - Add our buyers to your email list so you can follow up with them and pitch them even more offers

Every time one of our leads purchases your offer, you'll get a fresh buyer lead added to your email list and another buyer hitting your download page to see the offers you're promoting on it.

Does this sound like something you'd be interested in?
Now, maybe I'm just very protective of my products, but is that not just the funniest thing you've ever heard?

This guy wants to take my offer, put it on HIS hosting, keep all the profit, and in exchange send me the leads. WTF, you must have lost your mind...

I'm not in the business of giving away free whitelabels.

Ok, so maybe, maybe a newbie who has no list and needs to build one would potentially benefit from this. But personally I have a zillion affiliates who bring me new buyer leads, why on earth would I want to hand over control and all the profits of my product in "hopes" that he would "potentially" bring me a couple buyer leads.

Normally I wouldn't post about this, but what shocked me was I received this message from someone with over 1,000 posts on the forum who is somewhat well known.

Am I completely missing something here? Just sounds real fishy to me but perhaps I'm not getting the full picture. Thoughts?

Don't ask Don't get seems to be the approach this guy is taking!
Who knows, someone may eventually give him their hard work!

Can we sell your product and keep the money?

Can we keep the money for the upsells, too?

In exchange - we will GIVE YOU the leads we've already used to make money from your product.

That would make me rethink how I evaluate the "reputation" of people here. I guess it falls under "doesn't hurt to ask" and could be a lucrative business if enough people fall for it. Doubt it works with those smart enough to tie their own laces, though.

I got a similar request 3 days ago.

Theres no way in the world am going to give access to my products to anybody, unless that person is someone i can really trust 100%.

Wow hes really asking you to host the sales letter and collect 100% of FE and upsell sales... Must be a total joke! At least this guy asked me 50%! Lol

What id do is a quick research, what's his core business, previous projects, does he have a name in the market...etc

Like you said there are plenty of affiliates who can bring fresh leads every single day... i see no point here.

Props to you for posting it here and warning others... you cant imagine how many people fall for this type of bs requests.

    Hi,

If I got this PM I would report it to the mods. It is an unsolicited offer to steal money from you. This needs to be stopped.

Honestly, I will give them my front end product but not my back end. Hell they can keep 100% of the profit. Well, I'm getting free traffic and buyer traffic at best which is worth more than any traffic generation you can think of.

    Here's my take on this:

    1. You get a lead of buyers.
    2. Don't need to buy traffic since they will promote for you. (you said he was a reputable name here in the forum so he probably has a big list)
    3. In Jvzoo, almost all products offer 100% commissions!

Now that I think about it, those marketers are not half witted. They just know that these leads are investments. Most of then give 100% of the front end heck some even give 200%!

I don't know. But for me, a buyer is a buyer is a buyer.

But just the same, I'd check their website and their squeeze pages. Make sure that I'm really getting buyer leads by tracking my link.

    Thanks for the warning though.

At first blush, it does seem suspect. However, there are lots of list builders here. They know that the best lists are those made off BUYERS or WOULD-BE BUYERS. That's what the guy is essentially offering. Notice why many CB sales pages have a lead collection section in the first page? It's not an offer for everyone, to be sure. But some people might find lots of value in this type of arrangement.
