PDF links opening in IE instead of Firefox

I hope someone can help me. I'm getting increasingly frustrated when working through PDFs with site links. Although my default browser is Firefox, every time I click a link in, say Angela's monthly list, it not only opens in IE, but opens twice!

I'm on Vista.

Any thoughts welcome, thanks,

Ray

    Try this:

    1. Select Start -> Default Programs -> Set Program Access And Computer Defaults.
    2. Click Continue in the Security Alert dialog box, if it appears.
    3. Select Custom, and then select your preferred browser under Choose A Default Web Browser; click OK.

I haven't got Vista on this machine but I think those should be the steps!

Thanks for the reply. I did that and when it didn't work, I went back in and it had gone back to IE! In spite of this, when I go into options in Firefox, it says that Firefox is the default browser.

Similarly, in IE options, it says IE is not the default.

I checked another link in a PDF, and it still opens in IE and opens two browsers to the same site.

If you, or anyone else can shed light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I love the Seasick Steve quote in your sig, it's like some of the late great Shel Silverstein quotes/song titles.
    Thanks again,

    Ray
