The quality of ads on the forum.

Hi,

Is it just me of is the quality of the things being promoted on this forum deteriorating?

Is there a process for checking their legitimacy?

Sorry for the hard hitting thread and maybe I am getting my wires crossed and I am wrong but lately it seems like one can copy and paste any method and ask for emails and it doesnt matter at all if they have any chance of working.

I wont make it too obvious but I just basically signed up to another one that said something along these lines.

1) To make money online advertise in some basic manner.

2) Now that you are making money online give me money so I can show you how to make more.

What about all the people who dont make money the ways you described since the way you described is exactly what everybody does and fails.

Things have changed online. It is not as simple as just placing a PPC ad and watching the customers coming in like it used to be. Especially in the making money from home niche.

Let me know if you agree or am I just mistaken.

~Gary.

Well, I don't really know since I'm new here myself, but isn't this better be brought to the Suggestion category from this forum? I think you'll get more response that way, and it will definitely be looked on more by the site admin.

    Hi Gary,

    About this part:

"What about all the people who dont make money the ways you described since the way you described is exactly what everybody does and fails."

My take on this is that people will fail more often than not as they try to copy a method exactly, when the should take what they learn, and apply it with their own twist.

In my opinion, someone will buy a product, watch a video on how to do something, and they try and do exactly the same thing in the same niche with the same keywords... etc.

People take advice and trainings too literally.

I think it's possible to make money with most things on here, but you do need an element of creativity and presistence.

Not sure if this helps or not.

    Best

    Adam

Of course. There will always be people that dont try but I still find it a bit too devisive to market a guide that basically says nothing more than just place PPC ads and wait for the sales to come in. Anybody with experience knows it isnt that easy.

WF is a blend of awesomeness and unadulterated BS like all online marketing platforms.

Unfortunately, it's every bodies job to determine which is which.

A skill that only comes with experience.

I pity the newbies on this forum, I really do, the amount of crap they are conned into buying from people who can't even move out of home themselves is amazing.

    It is what it is.

Pay attention to the big $100 ads that keep showing up. Don't mind the one-time deals. There's a reason those same ads keep showing up. Remember, they pay $100 a day for those. Chances are HIGH those ads actually sell something of value and the end user gets enough value NOT to refund. Just an observation.

      Really?

I'll bet the advertiser makes a lot more than the buyers!

there's no test to place an ad.

So if you post "make $5 billion per month on the beach" only $9.99" as long as you pay it goes live.

use common sense. Are they making money from selling the "idea" or actually doing it?

My experience real systems are very rare and IF they ar sold go for a lot more than $99. (many thousands..)

99.9999999%= uselss. A system saturated always ruins it.

There are good and bad products in every marketplace. Just like eBay, it's not up to this website to go through each product and make sure they are ok. It would be impossible to do.

in the real world they are accountable though.

FTC "No guaranteed claims to earnings"

yet i see many "make $10,000 per month GUARANTEED!"

that alone simply should not be allowed.

That is the vendors fault, not the advertising platform

    oh...didn't realize this.

    Can I advertise cocain then?

What about a Ponzi scheme is that fine?

WHAT ABOUT $100 BILLS FOR $50?

    What do they charge?

Nope. That is illegal in the US.
What about a Ponzi scheme is that fine?
Nope. Also illegal, although determining in advance what is and is not a Ponzi scheme is tough sometimes, especially at the beginning.

If you actually deliver, that would be fine. And you would not be the first person to do exactly that sort of thing as a test.

Doesn't mean the ad would be approved, but the legality would depend on the truth of the representations made in the ad.

I am on the record, publicly and privately, as being in favor of eliminating promises of specific results from ads here. I am not a lawyer, though. The lawyers Allen listens to appear to believe the responsibility is, and should be left, on the shoulders of the advertisers.

The mods enforce the rules. We don't make them.

That said, we will ban (and have banned) advertisers who we have solid reason to believe are misrepresenting their products or the results obtained.

If you're going to talk about the law, Mark, perhaps you should consider looking up the penalties for unauthorized access of a protected computer system.

Note that, in the case of the law to which I am referring, "protected" means "covered by the law," not physically locked down in such a way that hacking is required to gain access.

"Banned" means you are explicitly NOT authorized to access the system.

Good point. Personally I prefer BUYER BEWARE rather than statutes and violent punishment for breaches. I wasnt knocking the forum or the admin. Just raising a topic to debate for ideas etc. The forum does have a good admin that respond quickly to any report of scams. I agree it would be impossible to check every product and service here. Especially the making money ones as they would have to try and make money with every one and if that was possible I would be doing it myself! =)
