Hi guys,

Just want to know your thoughts on how effective infographics are. I've seen a lot recently and it really catches someone's attention.

Your thoughts.

Infographics are a creative way to display content to people, it is their good looks and small pieces of information that is easy to consume that probably makes them so popular.

Because people like to enjoy their content in different formats, articles, videos, audios they all have their place and most likely will still be popular in the future.

So Infographics - as a guess may not completely takeover other formats of content.

I guess you're right mate! Infographics seems to be gain popularity because it easier for someone to understand and perceive the brand's idea using graphics instead of reading.

Some of web surfers are not readers they more of perceivers. I think this will generally make some buzz and will stay in the industry for quite long.

Yes, personally think that Infographic is here to stay as it is easier to digest and appealing to the eyes (as oppose to chunk of text).

i enjoy them. A lot easier for the eyes especially when you are in this industry for quite a while. You get bored of reading blog posts or articles!

    What would you rather choose?
    Long boring pure text contents
    OR
Images/Videos with small amount of descriptive texts.

You know why youtube get a billions of millions views?
It is because it is more easy in the eyes. For some people, they would rather watch or see a picture than read.

This is truly a great way to do content marketing. They are engaging as you have said and people are more likely to share these than, lets say a blog post. I like this Quicksprout article on how to market your info graphic. Lots of good ideas in the article.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words but an info graphic i feel is even worth more because of the story it tells, generally with data.

They're GREAT - and there are SOME infographic tools that allow you to create/add an "embed this infographic on your site" code - which gets the graphic on their site with a backlink back to yours.

A visitor will watch a video before anything.
A visitor will read a caption on a video before looking at a pic.
A visitor will look at a pic before reading the site, and read the caption to the pic before reading the site.

I myself hate video but I am old and frumpy so I don't count.

Infographics are also a great link building strategy. An awesome infographic can be classified as "linkable" content.

I would definitely include infographics as part of any content marketing strategy

The statistics says that 70% of the content gone viral is visual. Infographic is a very powerful traffic generator when done right - visually appealing, emotional, targeted for the right audience.

Beyond social sharing and attracting links, infographic helps with the brand recognition as the logo/brand is usually part of it.

In general, high quality infographic works by itself for a long time after being initially published and promoted as people tend to republish it on their sites - attracting new links and traffic.

I just read an interesting article about how infographics can dramatically increase the amount of time visitors spend on your site. I'll try to find it, but I saw it a while ago.

  • Infographics are a great way to turn what would normally be "boring" data into engaging content. And the thing I like the most about inforgraphics is you can break it down further into different visual elements (memes, single image factoids, blurbs, etc). Done right, you can create a ton of content from a single inforgraphic

I've seen companies doing infographic promotion and they've had big success in promoting their site around their niche. Just if you have the right strategy in marketing your content, even if it's not an infographic, I'm sure you will get more traffic than doing it on social media.
