What software/scripts do i need to set up a Membership Site?

Hi all,

I am looking at setting up a paid membership site where members can access new content including videos on a weekly/monthly basis via a private members area of the site. I would also like the ability to be able to drip feed content (like a timed release) to new members to prevent people from logging in & reading/watching all the content in one go then terminating membership.
What do i need to create this membership site?
I do currently own the Butterfly Marketing Script & wondered whether i could use that (but don't think there's a 'drip feed' facility on it). I have also heard that Joomla can be used for this or a WordPress plugin called 'Wishlist Member'....please help!
Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

The WordPress plugin I've heard most about is Membership Site - How to build it - Free Resources and software (no affiliation). It is supposedly simple and easy to use, although note that I have not used it myself yet.

They have both a basic free version and a couple "premium" versions which add integration to various payment processors and stuff like that.

Edit -> I think the drip-feed feature is actually in one of the premium versions so this might actually not be what you're looking for, sorry :/

You could create a site where people get content via autoresponder. If you have this it is super easy to set up...

Sales Page===>Payment====>Email Capture Page====>Download first lesson

Email capture has information preprogrammed so new people get lesson 1, 2, 3, and four in whatever sequence you provide.

Jimmy D. Brown teaches this over at Membernaire.com...I have a membership and I can testify to it's great content.

Simple, easy, and no software...not exactly what you were looking for but I figured you might be interested in it.
