Google PDF and duplicate content

My question is this. I am working on a site for my client it has PDFs that someone can download.
If I leave the link for download and then post the content of the PDF on a web page on the same site will Google count it as duplicate content.
Not sure if Google reads PDF content.

    Google does index pdf documents as I've had many come up in searches before. But a download link and having the content published on a webpage are two different things and I wouldn't think they would be counted as duplicate content. It's kind of like having your content in text and a video on the same page. They wouldn't look at that as duplicate content since they are different formats of media.
