I've just discovered a few of my WSO sales had the Paypal transaction reversed because the "buyer" did not authorize. As far as I can see, in those cases the buyer also did not download, so it seems likely that the transaction was not theirs, and their complaints were genuine. It then transpires that these sales were undertaken by the same affiliate who skims off his commission before the transaction is reversed. Clever eh?
Paypal is investigating but because this is a public forum and the culprit is a WF member, I won't be saying any more about that on here.

Anyone else had this issue? How did you deal with it?

There have been a lot of threads on here about this. They use a stolen credit card to make the purchase, get their commission and then empty their Paypal account leaving you with the refund to the customer and the Chargeback charge that Paypal charges, plus you've paid them the commission. Nice huh?

Don't approve affiliates that you don't know, but you should certainly report that affiliate to W+ or JVZoo or whatever platform you used.

I had this happen to me 2 years ago with a product I was selling on JVZoo. I was new to the JVZooo system and foolishly approved all of my affiliates for instant commissions.

The result was 13 chargebacks. A total monetary loss of 13 refunds of a $20 product ($260) + 13 chargeback fees of $20 ($260). A grand total of $520 lost in less than a week. You can bet I was NOT a happy camper that week.

I also lost a few hours of time on the phone with PayPal explaining exactly what happened so I would not lose my account. I hear many complaints about PayPal in this forum, but I must say they were very understanding and even told me they were so sorry that I had to go through this. They also said it was quite common. I was very impressed with their customer service and actually every time I've dealt with them on the phone they have been awesome. Leads me to believe that people who have had their account terminated were doing something really wrong, but that's a subject for another thread.

From that point on I always set affiliates to "delayed" commissions unless I know them personally or they have more than 500 sales on JVZoo.

That was a very hard lesson learned. Vendors who read this thread please take something away from it and don't make the mistakes I have!

People will use WSO's to launder stolen money. Pretty serious crime.
