Can you edit your WSO title?

Hi - I bumped my WSO's last night and they were back on page 1 today. I wanted to go back and change their title for testing purposes. Followed the editing buttons and put new title in - but it stayed exactly the same as the old one. I am talking about the heading on the first WSO screen not on my actual "salespage" on the forum. Can anyone unlock this mystery for me?

Hi John,

No you cannot change the main title.

You can however use the advanced editor window and then put in another title or subtitle.

Please note that it will not change the initial title that shows as the thread topic though. The new headline only shows up above your OP. Even then, people have to open the thread to see it.

It looks like the only way to change the title would be to repost the old WSO as a new one with an alternate title. You'll lose your replies and views though

Some forum software is better than others in this department from immediate changes to delayed changes to not at all.

Hmmm....I was wondering the same thing too.

Is there a way around this?

I was thinking I could start a NEW WSO with a NEW headline and then maybe just LINK it to my "old" one with a different headline.

Makes getting the headline right the very first time SUPER important. Something that is easier said than done.

One of the things I always liked about being able to change your headline was that it really gave you a lot of info about what headlines work and which don't. That's valuable info!

Hi I just tried still cannot do

strange thing about this is I was tweaking a WSO last night in the test forum and I was able to change my title there but not in the WSO forum.

So I guess its not site wide

Ed and John...are both of you clicking on "Go Advanced"?

You should be able to edit the titles fine.

Actually you should also be able to just double click near the title and do inline editing of the title without even going into the thread...

yes I have gone into advanced edit

we are talking about the thread title and we can't change the thread title

I am able to change it in the test forum the thread title

but in the WSO the thread title is not able to change

I have changed the actually post inside but my thread title remains unchanged, funny the test forum I am able to do this.

I'm looking into it but I've just done a number of tests as a regular user and it worked fine so I'm not sure what the problem would be..

I was able to modify mine!!!

Thanks for making the change....

Everyone, make sure you go into "Advanced" on the
bottom right corner if you edit screen.

It will take you to a new edit screen where you can edit the
Thread title

Ok now its working

I had to remove the old subtitle add something different save it then re-edit the title to what I wanted, must be something to do with the prior attempts thanks

Can you do inline editing?

Just look at all the threads on the main WSO page and double click near yours...it should change to an editing area so you can edit it.

I double clicked the thread title....It outlined the thread with a box as if I could edit it...took me to the edit page.

I went down...Clicked on Advanced...Made a Change to the Thread Title...

Saved it.

Went back onto the WSO Page....

And My THREAD TITLE DID CHANGE and SHOWED the change in the forum!!!! NO PROBLEM

You shouldn't even have to go into advanced...

Here's a quick example of what I mean by inline editing...

Just double click twice near the title:
