It's all about getting your name out there.

Profitable? Time will tell. However, you're dead in the water if no one finds you.

Go ahead and digg -- it doesn't hurt!

Linda

Certainly won't hurt as Linda said. Thing about sites like Digg is that you may write a post that can go viral, which means your post gets on the front page and you get tons of free traffic.

You can use it to learn what kind of topics go viral and the strategies others are using to make it happen. It's also a good playground to train headlines.

Yes definately. I had a live football (soccer) site until recently and every match was put on Digg, Propeller and Mixx and the amount of traffic was incredible, thanks to the ranking they gave me on google, always on page 1 for my keywords.

The Carling Cup final in March between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur saw over 4500 visitors in 18 hours!!!
