Advice for advertising on this site?

Ok so this is a basic site - have been denied by AdSense and Yahoo Networks because of lack of content, but have been approved by BidVertiser - have had 10,000 impressions since I signed up with BV a few days ago. Not great I know but the site has been up for a few week, and it is updated daily.
With that said, I want to learn how to best utilize ads on my site for greatest revenue (obviously), but I really do not know anything aside from just signing up with AdSense or something and pasting the code. I know profits can be streamlined better and want to utilize whatever the best options are.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I need to read a book, read an article, etc - Ill do it. Thanks
EDIT: This video today brought my site to over 150+ active visitors (monitor G Analytics)
