Wow... I'm such an idiot >:^(

I had bought into PP2W about a year ago (yeah yeah I know)... I had gotten a gang of people to sign up for the trial but I only got 1 guy to sign up.

Well long story short (get to the damm point already!)... I removed myself from the program a few months ago, and I had a website that I was getting some real good traffic daily... maybe 40 or so uniques without even doing any promoting... all organic.

So this is what the site has looked like for the last like 3 months (wealthy-lifestyle dot net)

I did a search for "wealthy lifestyle" just now... I'm bored at work... and I was just wondering if the site would still show up in SERPs. Well after about 3 months of absolutely ZERO content... my site still ranks #4, and there are 2,000,000+ (broad) sites in comp, and 14,000+ ("exact") sites in comp. The site gets about 1300 searches per month (per Google Keyword tool), so it gets some decent amounts of searches.

So tonight (if I have time) I'm going to put together some kind of offer to build a list... might as well take advatage

My question is... how can this be? Not that I'm complaining... but I thought surely my site would get de-indexed because of lack of content.

Anyone?

Thanks in advance,

DeShon

One reason might be that the competition isn't very active as well, 14k results for phrase match is very low. 3 months isn't a long period of time either.

Once the Google spiders your site, your pages are indexed and put in system. From then on they stay there indefinately even after the site has been taking the out of the website until the spider gets called upon to look at your site again.

The ranking factor will fluctuate with your competition. As other sites improve from yours you will be bumped out of your ranking spot and sent to the bottom of the 2,000,000+ results. Basically never seeing the light of day ever again until they just de-index you.

The amount of content in your site still might be competitive with your niche but eventually you will get lost in the results, but it will be lesser and lesser as time passes by.

Remember also that it takes aproximately 2 to 4 weeks for ranking factors to take effect. The higher the rank, the faster and more often spiders come to see what's new in any given site. The lower the rank, the more time the spiders take to come along the site.

That means that you might still be up there because Google has not republished rankings on sites yet. Most Google professionals agree that the little PageRank symbol on your Google toolbar is severely outdated since it does not use the same database as the spider and rank data for ranking a site.

Wow my two cents and now I will shut up.

    To your success!

Which means it actually gets probably less than half that in actual Google searches per month.
