Dumping Click Bank Boosted Sales

Hi - We just had an interesting development that I thought it'd worth sharing and getting anyone elses take on. One of our sites sells a range of e-books. We were using click-bank to sell them.
3 weeks ago we dumped click bank and began using an internal shopping cart on the site that links straight into PayPal.
This has resulted in a 400% jump in sales. True there may be other factors at play but it looks like clear cause and effect. Whether this is the Paypal button being trusted, the shopping cart system itself we're not sure. Most likely is a rich tapestry of these - it may just be that clickbank has become synonymous with 'dodgy'.
Other advantages are the system we put in place provides some security for us - encrypted links open for 24 horurs as opposed to Click bank having no system for this, and not having to take checks to the bank (which seems such so archaic when you're selling digital products) - now we get paid immediately.
We weren't doing any affiliate sales - but it would be easy to put in place an affiliate system with the current set up.
Anyone else have a similar experience ? Based on this I'd say unless you've got a good reason for sticking with clickbank - move on.

Cheers

so where customers checking out on your site with a shopping cart or being sent to paypal to order?

I would still keep clickbank for the affiliates but just set up a different page for them like www.yourdomain.com/cb

Check out takes them through paypal.
Good idea setting up a separate page for Clickbank affiliates to point to.

    Cheers

Paypal is a little bit pricey but they do have a trusted service.

I think 4x the sales immediately dumps on any fees issues-especially when selling digital products with no unit cost.

I guess the main question here is not so much that Paypal are trusted but 'Was clickbank scaring people off?'
