marketing and integrity

So I paid into a marketing "scheme" not alot, well alot for me maybe not most people. I know if I can get one person to buy into then i'd break even, but I can't even do that. I was told part of my problem is I'm not willing to stretch the truth or omit details. I suppose I lost my money, such is life. I'm trying to find a way to make money online where i do not have to compromise morals or such. I"m sure there are ways, I just don't know what they are.

If you build a niche website about something that you know a lot about or are passionate about and promote related products that you already use then you can probably make money without comprising your ethics/morals.

A lot depends on the niche you choose so it's not a guarantee.

I think it's ok to omit details, as long as your not misleading anyone.

There is no rule that says you have to report on every single detail you know about a product.

    It is very simple:

If you know the product is crap you can not sell it.

The only way to make money online or offline is to NOT compromise your integrity.

If you try to do it any other way you WILL fail.

Sure, there are shady marketers out there that try to tell you you can sell stuff by lying and swindling. Only problem: It either makes you end up in hot water or you wind up with ulcers.

    Neither one is desirable.

So, keep your integrity and sell what you know is 100% working. If it's not up to your standards keep looking and you WILL find something that works for you.

Kevin Trudeau sold over 850,000 of the weight loss program that ended him up in Federal prison for a few years. Ask him how his ulcer is, when he gets out.:p

Wow, good point. Didn't Frank Kern get in trouble a long time ago also. Sold some kind of email empire or IM empire, pyramid scheme thingy, that made wealth claims that were proven to be numerically impossible?

If I am wrong I am sure someone will correct me, but that's what I remember. The only thing I can't understand is why do so many of the other Gurus still praise his name.

I just think it's harder to do well financially if your honest, but not impossible. You just got to decide whether you are willing to settle for the fast, easy buck, or are willing to work for the long term financial success.

The question, is, did you know it was a marketing scheme, right off the bat ?

If you did, you gambled and you lost. If you knew it was scheme, your words, then what the heck were you thinking getting involved in the first place?

People get involved with " schemes "because if they work, they get rich, but they never work and this is why?

When you work the math, they all have the math to back up their claims of putting in no work and getting phenomenal paybacks, it would make sense for the founder of the scheme to just pay someone, an hourly wage of $10.00 and rake in the massive profits for themselves.

Heads up, the next time you want to " invest " in a scheme, just do the math, if you can pay someone to do the work and their is profit left over, then it does not pass the smell test, the owner would just hire people and keep the massive profits for themselves.

          It keeps getting worse !! Just read this in your reply;

I find trying to find buyers is the hardest part and I just don't get how its done well, so I thought this might work out.

When ever any one, any where even suggests they will supply YOU, with leads, run for the hills as fast as you can.

Following up on my thread about the owner of any such scheme saying there is massive profits to be made and why doesn't the owner just hire someone and keep them for themselves, the same exact logic applies to the famous lead generation schemes or lead selling schemes, WHY would anyone sell or give away what amounts to gold, REAL leads for pennies, when they should kept these nuggets of gold to themselves and make all the profits?

I hate to trot this old saying out, but its still true today as it was the day someone first said it, if its too good to be true, guess what, it is.

I was kind of curious as to what lead you into getting involved with the marketing scheme in the first place.

Generally speaking I do not buy into anything, I simply don't have the money and I'm too cynical to believe anything will work as advertised.. but this particular thing I thought might work, well i'm sure it does for some people not me. The program supplies leads instead of me having to find them. I find trying to find buyers is the hardest part and I just don't get how its done well, so I thought this might work out.

Just sell products you've tested or you have enough evidence they're good.

Building confidence with your clients -notice I said Clients- is the most
important matter because people purchase products from vendors they trust
and don't have to worry about.

        Synthesizing, you're the Final Product.

Honesty all ways will give you peace of mind and better marketing results.

Not to mention, you wont have to worry who's knocking at you front door...

You don't have to compromise with your morals to Earn money .
But to make money you have to sell something
a click, a product, a link, a service, it's up to you what you like to sell.
if you are honest with your customer may be you are not going to rich overnight but in a long run you will get good return.

    Good Luck.

Building trust and a relationship with your customer is one of the most important thing because people don't buy the product they buy you! And they tend to buy from people they trust and like. If they can see that you don't like your own product or the one you promote then they won't buy it.

Maybe you have to take it like it is and start all over with a product you really behind!

I used to sell waterbeds back in the late 70's - I was very successful selling them because I owed a waterbed myself and loved it - it was obvious to the buyers that I loved water beds and that I thought they were fun, great to sleep in, and my enthusiasm and honesty won their hearts - so they bought from me and my commission cheques grew and grew

In my opinion, you will be very successful selling something that you have bought yourself or that you believe in, and most people can tell the difference between a snake oil salesman and a genuine honest salesperson who believes in the product or service they are marketing.

Why don't you just write Kindle books or something? I mean, marketers aren't going to be forthcoming totally. I worked in Sales for 10 years before medical school and I can tell you, while we stayed above board for some things... it is a slippery slope and the sale is what is important in some companies and I'm sure to some marketers.

You have to promote your own products or products that you know and trust. You will be an honest marketer if you will sell what is really good, and not whatever may seem to be profitable.

Live and learn my friend. That opportunity quite obviously doesn't fit your character. I was burned plenty when I just started out.

I found and surrounded myself with people who market themselves transparently. I've never enjoyed more success than I do now, and it makes for a more sustainable business when people like and trust you

    Hope that helps!

There are plenty of people who make money immorally. But you obviously have a conscious, so it sounds like you'd be unhappy if you lied to make a buck.

Find something to sell that's on the up&up, and go for it. "One bad apple" and all that.

I think there are enough good products out there, developed by professional marketers to avoid having to go anywhere near compromising your integrity.

We all fall for it at times. Keep looking.

Maybe more like business than scheme.

it is not sexy, but this is what you seem
will prefer from your talk about morals.

Make the decision and go for it.

    Hey,

Seth Godin said you gotta tell a story, but one you can authenticate.

The problem maybe you had as that you were trying to sell a product that you didn't believe in. If you don't believe in it, how are you going to get anyone else to believe in it. This is an issue I had in the past.

Think someone already mentioned- get into something that you're really into, then into it will be much easier for you to get other people to join you.
