Hey i have tried to find a VA on Freelancer, oDesk and eLance.

I dont know but on oDesk are only 2 people applied to my application. and on eLance and Freelancer i tried 3-4 but there was no good quality.

Any ideas to find good va's or Web Reserach specialists? I need simple things nothing complex. Search for Company Names, Hosting provider wich payment methods they accept etc.

Hope someone has an idead. Thank you.

    You can find what you need in the warrior forum..in the section..."Warriors for hire"

    Also, when using the sites you mentioned, you have to do detailed research. I've used elance. I only deal with people who can show me quality work they've done.

    You can try the "Warriors for Hire" section. Or if you're looking for full-time people, you should try looking at onlinejobs.ph too.

    You mentioned that you haven't gotten a lot of good responses for your job ad. I think it would be a good idea to re-write your job post. Maybe the ad isn't clear or the job posting isn't that attractive. You got to remember that looking for workers is a lot like selling, if you want to attract good people you got to have a good job post.

    I have hired VA from both Odesk and Elance. When I posted I got well over 50 applicants on both sites (of course half were spam applicants).

    I would rewrite job and use as much detail as you can. If you want I'll send you my VA job posting template.

      Something to consider is running a small test task as part of your posting that's representative of the larger or more ongoing tasks you'll have. That may help target responses more and give you a chance to test out how well you work with a couple of different people before then giving them any ongoing work. It's not just can they do the assigned task well, how well you and they "click" can be important too, the right person may be able to work under you with less direction and this will make life much easier.

      Also, whenever I post a listing I'm very explicit about what I want to see from them in their response and clearly state responses that fail to address those points will not be considered. I'm genuinely surprised how many people still fail to follow instructions and just post a generic response, but it sure makes it easy to know who isn't making my shortlist.

    I really don't know your budget but yes, you can try the Warriors For Hire. However, if your budget is not that high, you may want to consider outsourcing in the Philippines.

    Many of my friends are web research specialists and writers at the same time.

    Have you heard of Hire the best Filipino employees and virtual assistants the Philippines has to offer! by any chance? You may want to check that site out.

    Also, is this a long term project or just a short one?

    Typically we got 100s of applicants on oDesk I think you're not defining your tags properly

    What limitations did you use? Location?

    There is a good VA on Fiverr and her name is virtualgirl2010. They do a lot of different tasks and it sounds like she could fill the bill.

    I used GETFREELANCER to find virtual assistants to write my articles and do the dirty work to promote SECRETGEDLOOPHOLE while I sit back and collect my commissions. My advice, you get what you pay for! So don't accept the cheapest bid and make sure to read reviews and ask for sample work!

I am sure nowadays million million freelancer is finding suitable work, why you got a few application. you can see the hire for warrior section in this site.

    A decent VA for your type of tasks would start from $3 per hour on oDesk. Usually I choose the candidate by asking a few consecutive questions and giving a small trial to 2-3 best candidates. Some applicants don't respond and some never finish the project so in the end it's very easy to choose

    @ garmahis, Had you hired anyone. if you hired someone they can try to do your work, on the other hand if you take any interview without hiring, you may not get any good feedback from them, because no one does want wast time. If you do not hire, why they will spend time?

    You may have a hard time looking for quality VA, but if you don't like using any freelancing websites you may try LinkedIn for searching perfect candidates who are willing to show their work/portfolio. You may also try outsourcing solutions firm in the Philippines to do a particular task for you.

    I found a great VA on odesk that is in the Philipines. She works harder than anyone I could find locally and for much less. I think you probably did not offer to pay enough for the work you need done.

    There may some reasons why freelancers did not apply on your project. Such as your your Rate/ budget amount is not appropriate/ less than current freelancer expectation. or, you posted the post on wrong category. You mentioned the Freelancer, oDesk and eLance sites name. Of course they are the top leading site in the whole world.
