Is seeling tangible product profitable?

Being an IM for years, I am becoming less interest in writing article, blogging, dealing with SEO, blah blah.... I am thinking of switching my business to sell physical product as a retailer on place like ebay, and amazon. Because I think people put more value on physical product than intangible and these markets can never run out of demand. I would like to know if anyone here have been on these two business realms. Which one do you think is more profitable?

    I have three businesses:

As a former news reporter, I have a freelance writing business, which is doing very well because of ads I have placed on Warrior Forum. In fact, I am totally booked up for new and the foreseeable future.

My second business is writing ebooks for kindle, which has been generating a nice passive income for me for the last three and one-half years.

My third business is dropshipping products, selling them on my own site, as well as on Amazon and eBay.

This generates a weekly income with minimum amount of work now.

All three have one thing in common:

They deliver real value to the customer.

Yes, dropshipping is a viable way to make money selling products online. However, you must spend time getting the right products and setting up your selling platforms.

You can try and reinvent the wheel or invest in product directories as I and many other have. Spending time researching dropshippers is also important.

It cannot be done overnight and it takes a major commitment to get your dropship business to where it can run almost on autopilot.

    Hope this helps.

I have Amazon businesses and can attest to their effectiveness as a business model.

But in the last few years working businesses that deal with digital information is more profitable and probably easier to get going in.

But in both areas it still takes a lot of work
