Hello to everyone
I'm new to this forum but it seems like there are a lot of knowledgeable people here, not the buy my push button product & become a millionaire type's.
I'm trying to get started in an online business to make a little extra money to help pay the bills,or even better replace my regular job.
My question is two parts, any thoughts on these "pre- made"websites.I've seen some advertised on this forum, just your thoughts good or bad, pro's cons.Just to give me a idea.
Next, since I'm just starting and still doing some research on the niche I want to get involved in,any suggestions on using a website vs. a blog to get started.I have no following, customers or list to start with.
Any help on what you think might offer me the best chance to get going will be greatly appreciated.
I look forward to learning here and making some friends.
Thank you so much. I hope this was the proper place to post this,if not I'm sorry.
Mike

Hey mike since you are just getting started...

It's always a great idea to build some type of list.

All you need is a squeeze page on a website and an email marketing service

Send traffic to it, then go from there

The answers to your questions would depend on the niche and biz model.

Regarding the pre-made website look at it this way - a shortcut for you as this will cut down on the amount of money, time and effort you'll need to invest. But if anyone is telling you that you won't have to do anything else and the sites will run on auto-pilot do not believe them.

As for website or blog question, you'll find that most marketers/companies has both as they complement each other. Each has a role to play. So again, this depends on the biz model you choose.

Now the question on "the best chance to get going" you said you have no following, customers or list to start with. There are PROVEN affiliate programs which provides excellent resources for their affiliates so that you can start off in the minimum time possible.

    All success to you

With the pre-made site, you're still going to be responsible for the most expen$ive and/or time consuming part of the business, which is driving traffic to it.

Do not use pre-made websites... Why? It will benefit you in the long run to have the knowledge to make a website on your own. Eventually you'll feel the need to edit something that is in the core of the webdesign and will not be able to as it was pre-made by somebody else.

As for your second question, I recommend getting started on a blog where you share your knowledge. As your daily visitors grow so do your money making options. IF you post high quality content you will get visitors, one way or another.

    Hey,

I have bought a few pre made sites, but what I learned is that I should have mastered traffic generation first, granted each of those sites depended on a few different traffic generation methods, but I would definately suggest hold off on the pre made sites until you learn more about traffic. I would also consider writing an actual business plan if you plan on purchasing a site and marketing it.

I recently started building a list with a product I created using the squeeze page idea mentioned earlier and that has really helped me learn hands on how to test traffic, do email marketing, make a product and a funnel, and learn all kinds of ways to get traffic, plus make money while doing it.

I would really suggest finding someone to help you with list building and funnel creation, there are lots of ways to make money online but I personally recommend this way.

Usually buying a premade website means paying more than it would cost you to make it yourself. I know, stupidly true. I`m telling you this because anything can be built. And if you`ve thought of a niche you want to get in on, then I`d advise you to start learning wordpress. Or Joomla.. or any other easy to learn CMS. It would save you a lot of money.

I wouldn't often buy the premade squeeze pages, but get one made somehow that will be uniquely yours as everyone may have seen similar squeeze pages for so long that they aren't noticing them anymore. That is a start for list building, which you should do soon to get a jumpstart for this.

Mike, First realize what you are interested in and what you can share about?

Choose a niche you are good in or have extreme interest and learned well about it. Then create a blog for it. Write about the niche by scrutinizing each and everything in it so that learners who are searching for the niche topics can find your blog.

Ask them to subscribe->Build a list->Create a product for them and sell it.

Pre-made websites are good enough if you are someone who can not learn how to create a basic website too. Well, it's pretty easy now a days. Every hosting company gives you an option to install CMS in a single click. Play around it and learn to get one built all by yourself.

Money is in the list, as they say. From the idea stage itself, you should have a form embedded on your site to create a list.

As you are just starting out then you should keep in mind that "Money is in the list"
You just need to focus on list building....you would need to have an auto responder and a sqeeze page and its all done
List Building is important because it will become your own traffic source later. You can get visitors in seconds if you have a large list
    Best Of Luck !

      Hey Mike,

Glad to have you here bud.

      Best way to get started:

Get out in the forum and start getting involved in discussions here on the main discussion board. Start posting and building up your reputation.

At the same time find 1 problem you see people having and create a product offering the solution to that 1 problem.

Create a simple squeeze page offering your product as a lead magnet.

Drive traffic via solo ads, blog posts, forum posts with a catchy headline hyper-linked with your offer squeeze page in you forum signature.

      Hope that helps

      Eric

Start a blog Mike, and blog like mad to stand out from the crowd. Most struggling due to poor branding. Authority bloggers have a tool in their arsenal that few can compete with.

    All the best!

Stupidly simple mainly text only squeeze page with very few to no fancy graphics, the What Is In It For Me list of benefits as to why people should buy the product and/or sign up to your list. Those two are the largest deal makers or breakers depending on presence or lack of these, thereof.

The What Is In It For Me is the killer. YOU MUST make SURE that is present or a lot of potential subscribers and/or money is on the table. I didn't learn this until just now. I expect because of the new presence of this for new subscriber rate to increase soon.

Hi Mike (if that's your real name). I will send you an email so we can have a chat. In the meantime, I suggest you read a lot in the forums and start learning. I owe A LOT to the Warrior Forum. I consider myself a lucky guy for finding this forums some years ago.
