Website Daily Marketing Plan

5 replies
Hi everybody.

I am a website designer and developer. After years of developing other peoples websites I have finally got round to building and completing mine.

What I am really after is a daily, weekly and monthly marketing plan that i can easily follow in the two hours I have spare every day. I don't mind what is included, I have money for outsourcing and social media (I have a pro hootsuite account) but I have absolutely no idea how to do SEO.

What would be good would a step by step plan to follow every day, is there something that you guys find that works. I looked at Marlon sanders traffic dashboard but not sure if its been kept up to date, but really something as simple as that would be great!

Many thanks in advance
Hayden

    A marketing plan should be CUSTOM CRAFTED to your specific business. It's something YOU should make, not simply grabbing what works for some other website.

    Without getting into specifics, here is my own plan, fortunately it's super simple.

    1) Create an online business asset
    2) Check stats on current paid advertising, increase spending on the best performer, dump the lowest performer

    Now to me, "creating online business assets" is the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITY for any web based enterprise. I do it before I do anything else.

    It's done before email is checked, stats are checked, I talk to anyone ... NOTHING is more important than creating at least one new online business asset every day.

    What is an "online business asset" you ask?

    ==> Website/Blog (update it with something)
    ==> New Videos (YouTube channels or stream directly off website)
    ==> Facebook Fan Pages (update it with new content)
    ==> Forums (participation in niche specific forums)
    ==> Squeeze Pages (email list capture that gives really good content)

    ==> Interviews (blog)
    ==> Worksheets (blog)
    ==> References (blog)
    ==> Podcasts (blog)

    ==> Articles (to your email list, for your blog, posting to ezinearticles for rankings, guest blogging etc)

    ==> Webinars (use to sell the affiliate products)

    In other words my "marketing plan" is just two steps.

    Create an online business asset (which results in free traffic) and monitor my paid advertising, increasing spending on my best performer, dropping my lowest performer ... AND testing out a new add to replace the one just dropped.

    Hope this helps.

    I would start with adding content, content and more content. The more articles you have out there, the more of a footprint you're leaving on the web. If you're writing 5-6 articles a day, the articles probably aren't worth reading. One great article a day should be your goal. Make sure each and every page has all of the social network sharing capabilities. Build your social media following. Follow Twitter Users that follow your competitors. List building is also important. I would suggest adding an opt in form to your website and moving your Google Contacts over to your MailChimp Account. Best of luck.

    A daily action plan is what you need, no doubt. You have the time (2 hours), now you need to find the most relevant tasks you can do to fill that time and get exposure. I would suggest looking at traffic courses, and be mindful of the shiny button approaches to instant traffic. Apply and stick with a system.
