Neat Receipts or Evernote

Looking for a way to store info. Basically, I was looking at Neat Receipts to store my receipts (and clear out my file cabinet). I was looking at Evernote as a way as well.

Both require that you buy these expensive scanners (around $400 or $500). I guess I could pay that for something like a combination (like Fax, Printer, Scanner) but it is hard for me to pay that for just a scanner ...

Has anyone else used these systems?

    I've used evernote for several years. I use it to keep my notes organized and I like it a lot.

    Just a thought, instead of buying a scanner, can't you take digital pictures of your receipts - your scanner is just going to save them as jpg's anyway.

    Can't speak to Neat Receipts but I too have used Evernote for a while and find it really easy and functional. Just stay on top of the updates and it should be good to go.
