How Do You Do Cost Assessment For a Client?

For those who have clients here, how do you do a cost assessment for a marketing campaign? I have no idea on how to go about this and they want to know what I think the campaign will cost to test 'x' amount of keywords or placements.

How am I supposed to know this info when each keyword/placement will have a different price tag and I don't know how much traffic to expect?

Is this for a PPC campaign or for SEO?

In that case getting together costs should be fairly easy. In fact my wager is that your client has LESS money than there are clicks to buy. That being the case you need to work with your client to determine the best keywords to target and then make sure that you set max daily budgets so that you don't end up overspending.

Someone mentioned a small test size ... definitely do that also. In fact that's where you should start. Get your client to agree to some kind of a small test first so that you can see which sites within the content that are delivering clicks are delivering clicks that convert.

Now, when you start the real spending, only advertise on the sites that are delivering converting traffic.

        Hope this helps.

Depending on your client. $500 is a god budget test with.

Track and measure the perforamce. And u can start accessing the cost. Compairing the advertise investment with the revenue made
