Figure it out yourself.

After seeing so many question on Warrior forum that are all 'does this work' or 'does that work', and usually all about IM marketing methods that don't work, especially this ecourse or that ecourse, I have to say the best way to figure out how to generate profit on the internet is to try various methods yourself, and stop buying the ecourses, reports and ebooks.

They only show you methods that make the vendor or owner of those ecourses money, not you, the person looking to find out how to make money.

Example, you buy ecourse A, are all excited that finally you have a step by step, push button, do nothing, fully automated way (yeah, like such a thing really exist) to start making money online. What you eventually find out is that ecourse A is either:

Not complete, You still have to buy ecourse B from same vendor to find out more, despite the fact that you were promised that ecourse A was everything you needed to make money, OR

It's crammed with affiliate links so that everything you do according to the ecourse, generates sales for someone else, not you, OR

It's a system that builds someone's else's list while you slave away and spend a lot of time and money working the system.

I say you have to figure out how to do internet marketing yourself. No one that sells an IM ecourse is selling their ecourse to help you. If said ecourse was really a way to make money, the the vendor or owner of said ecourse would be using that method to make money themselves, and not letting you know about it, that's for sure.

I think a lot of us that are looking to make money online need to get out of the mindset that others are here to give away their means of making money to everybody else on the internet because they are just so much the samaritan and just want to help mankind. Yeah, right.

I think one of the things that would help most people looking to make money online, is to just wake up.

If you are really looking to make money online for yourself, then look for ways to make money for yourself, not for everybody else online that says they have a push button, automated, do nothing system that will make you a millionaire in 3 weeks. I mean, c'mon.

Not complete, You still have to buy ecourse B from same vendor to find out more, despite the fact that you were promised that ecourse A was everything you needed to make money, OR

While yes, you should find your own path, I do disagree with several of the above.

Any offer that is NOT complete by the front offer is an unfair product.

Upsells should simplify, automate or scale the front end. The front end SHOULD be complete AS IS.

Next, there's nothing wrong with affiliate links. Fact is, if someone ends up buying something they benefit from, there's no reason on this planet that you should not get credit for the sale.

Plus, offers ALWAYS get passed around in the black hat forums... so why not include your money links as weell?

    And finally:

Systems that build someone elses' list at the expense of your business - not good.

But also remember - you *own* how much you choose to 'slave away'. If your efforts aren't providing results to *you*, reexamine your efforts.

If you'd like to try your hand at product creation, what works well in this industry of hyper infobursts (ie, short attention spans) is to provide a one problem/one solution product. If you're new, offer 75-100% of the commissions to encourage big name affiliates to promote, and make sure to include an upsell that gives the buyers done-for-you tools (ie, graphics, PLR, spreadsheets, etc). That will enable you to build your list, make a bit of money, and then implement followup marketing to said list for future profits as well.

But definitely - find what works for *you*. Nobody else.

Ah yes, I wasn't very clear on that I guess. My mistake. Having an affiliate link in an ecourse doesn't always mean you won't make any money or any progress in your IM, but there are many ecourses that the whole marketing method that is taught does nothing but drive traffic to the affiliate links in that ecourse, and doesn't help you at all get traffic, generate effective advertising, build your list, or help you with anything on your end. I know, I have seen too many of them.

Maybe my thread hear helps others, maybe it doesn't help anyone at all. Im not sure.

If it can just help someone stay away from all the scams, then maybe the money they would have lost could be spent on something that might help them.

Money is a big factor to those who are looking to generate income online. If they were rich as all get out, like many of the Guru's seem to think, they wouldn't need to be looking for a way to make money online.

Barb, you beat me to it!

Especially the part about what works for *you*. It's a point I hammer on in several of my own infoproducts.

There are many e-courses that teach valuable "how to" information that is NOT "How to Make $2M in the next 15 minutes."

Thing is, it is exactly those types that newbies are attracted to like moths to a flame. And if you throw in that you don't have to do any work, they will buy it even faster.

Once you decide ... and that is YOU do the research and decide on an online business you'd like to startup, there's a wealth of information and tools on this forum that are sold that will make your job easier.

    YES and NO.

There are just few basic methods of making money. They are so simple that looks impossible. Most courses are concentrating on generating income with specific tools. So you have to select a tool set that you like. Another pros that some of that courses are motivational enough.

But each book about how to become rich and feel comfortable is totally useless without... thoughtful reader and tireless doer inside you.

Yes, I think that's the whole thing. What I think, though it may not be dishonest, I feel is very deceptive, is all the IM sales pages that will never tell you that there is a good chance that you might not make any money after following instructions in ecourse or ebook.

They only put that at the very bottom of the sales page to keep themselves out of trouble legally, and they put it in the tiniest print legally permissible, but the rest of the text on their 20 screen length sales page is all about how anyone, know matter who they are or what skills they have or don't have, can make six figures in 3 weeks if they just buy the ecourse or ebook.

One of the biggest issues for people new to IM is the info overload. Having the will to start and stick with a project until it begins making money can be difficult with so many shiney objects flying around, so you find people juming from one product to another looking for a quicker fix without actually seeing anyting through.

Nothing new there! Its a reason why the MMO niche is so massive...

There are a lot of methods and systems that do work, many of which can be had over in the WSO section.

My business is a marketing consulting firm meaning that a customer pays us money and in turn, we deliver what they paid for.... usually a method in the form of a course, or a service, all the way up to coaching with "yours truly".

Do all the various marketing courses I sell WORK?

    Dare I say.....

    NO!

What I mean is..... my stuff delivers ACTIONABLE VALUE.

What THAT means is.... COURSES and METHODS don't work..... PEOPLE do.

There's a direct correlation between methods working and people taking action.
