Newbee Here....Need recommendations

New to all of this so I need some recommendations on where to start.

I am selling an ebook and I bought my domain and hosting through godaddy.

I need a good program to create my landing page.

Something simple to create sales page, buy and pay, then download the ebook.

Any recommendations.

Thanks in Advance!

I think Nvu is quite a nice, simple (and free!) application for creating simple web pages.

    Here's the download link:

    All the best,

How are you managing payment? You have two options:
    1) Get PayPal or similar service to take the credit card payment, and redirect the visitor to your download page. This is a direct sale with no affiliates in the middle. It requires programming at the back end so it may not be for you.
    2) Get ClickBank or similar service to actually make the sale of your ebook. This is technically different as CB (not you) is selling the product, and splitting the proceeds between you and the affiliate. If you want affiliates to sell your ebook this is preferable.

Right now you need to get some prospects. Maybe make a small free version of your ebook, or a free product that is complimentary to your ebook. Offer this product in return for the visitor's email address and promise to contact them when you release. This will allow you to start generating traffic and building your list.

Use aweber.com to manage your list.

      Richard,

Does NVU have a simple way to incorporate paypal and then direct toward a download page?

      Thanks for your response.

          Hi huntersimp,

What you could do with NVU is to get your sales page ready and then go to paypal and get a buy now button. The code provided from paypal you then add to your site and when someone buys your product they are directed to the download page with your product
You are probably better off investing in someone to write a sales page for you if you have no experience as the results will be much better for you. Look around the WSOs to see if anyone is doing a sales letter WSO.

            John,

How do you connect Paypal and the download page?

Like Eleazer said you are going to want to build your list as well using an autoresponder service. Don't leave that step out! You'll be kicking yourself down the road.

By having a list you can continue to market and stay in contact with the people that purchased your ebook. Think long term!

    Eleazer & Eric,

Thanks for the input. And, YES, I do need to do that. Can I incorporate that somehow into my initial sales page and offering?

    And ideas are helpful.

    Thanks guys.

I use weebly for building my landing pages. It's very easy and tons of "how to" videos on youtube if you get stuck.

I would have an optin box on your landing page so you can capture the lead if they don't convert the first time. Then setup an autoresponder series sending them back to the sales page.

I've recommended elsewhere that yola.com was a good, easy website builder that worked for me. They'll host your site free, too, if you want. Might be worth a look. Really easy to design your own website in very little time. Site updates are very easy, too.

      mike,

I just sent weebly a few questions. Thanks for the rec.

Is it pretty simple to hook up paypal and then direct them to a password protected download page?

I know all of this is probably really easy to set up. I have just never done it. I bought my domain and hosting from godaddy and tried to use the website tonight creation tool but it is really limited and seems like it will take some time to figure all of this out.
