I am confused about clickbank affiliate links.

Hi,

In the past I used to see all clickbank links like this:

http://nickname.someid.hop.clickbank.net

But recently I have seen a lot like this:

http://hop.clickbank.net/?nickname/someid&x=product4

So why the difference in format ? :confused:

a stupid question.

The 'recent' formats you are seeing are in fact the old format

The current format
http: //AFFILIATE.VENDOR.hop.clickbank.net

was introduced back on 2005-04-06

  There is a warrior that in his sig file has an affiliate recommendation and he is suggesting to use a link that in this style for the product:
  http://nickname.someid.hop.clickbank.net
  
  And a link that is in this style
  http://hop.clickbank.net/?nickname/someid&x=product4
  for the promo report.
  
  So I should not be suspicious about this then ?
  
  It is pretty "normal" ?

  In general, if in doubt about a ClickBank affiliate link
  click though to the order page to confirm that is says
  [affiliate=yourid] at the end.

i always use the "official" way..like MYID.VENDOR.HOP.CLICKBANK.NET
Everything else is...well...suspicious.
