Above The Fold Or Not At All?

So, is being on front page of the Google serps useless unless you're "above the fold" -- I can imagine this would be different depending on the niche and keywords, but my article (after a lot of backlinking) is now on front page for my search term (the BROAD and PHRASE!) and it's only getting a handful of views a day (like 10... tops) and this keyword (according to Google) gets 30k searches a month. So... is my problem that I'm not above the fold in the serps and people won't look at the bottom listing, or is this keyword dead or something? Thanks in advance, just looking for your experiences/comments

It will certainly help to move up some more. Do you see that as possible?
Have you tried doing adwords for a day or two to measure the click rate that way? (since the ad would appear above the fold)

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

I usually click on one in the top 5 first with my general searches -
but I read/scan the listings to decide what is most likely to be
worth investigating - so the way you do your meta-tags would
have a big affect on whether you would get a click from a guy
    like me.
