Default Stumbleupon Advertising?

Anyone try this yet? I want to but I don't want to get burned by lots of bogus hits.

I tried it about 6 weeks ago. I got quite a few hits but my rating was only about 70% I think. I directed it toward my site review blog, which was a big mistake because I wasn't sure which category to list it under.

If you list under the best, right category for your site, you'll get more favorable reviews, thus, more traffic from the advertising. If people are Stumbling the video category and you're selling cameras, they'll be upset and give you a thumbs down.

I tried SU for clicks, but didn't get decent results.

I wasn't selling anything either, just trying to get people to join a forum. I figured they were "active participants" as members of SU, but that didn't translate to them joining the forum.

I tried but they turned down my websites, first because of the popup.. I removed it and applied again and they still rejected it so I gave up..

Last month I had 298 visits from StumbleUpon and that is just from my profile, no advertising.. If you build up your profile, make friends, become apart of the community you will get some traffic from StumbleUpon.

As for the paid advertising no idea the results as I said they rejected my site so I did not apply again...

SU people typically don't stay on your site when they land there. But if they like it, they will give it a thumbs up, which bookmarks it for their friends to see. Stumblers are just stumbling around killing time, usually, not looking for anything in particular.

OK, one more thing...people who use SU for advertising usually do it just to test their site and see what kind of response it's getting. If you're already getting good response, I wouldn't spend the money. Even though it's pretty inexpensive.
