Best way to promote blog about traveling?

Hello,

I recently started a blog where I want to share all my traveling experiences. I am planning to travel the world and my goal is to inspire people by sharing what I learned and experienced.

I do not intend to make any money with my blog. You can find the reason for that in this post where I have introduced myself (as you can guess I am kinda new here).

I know this forum is about making money (although I am more then willing to share my experiences about how I made my fortune), but its also about internet marketing and I really wish to promote my blog the right way.

Does anybody here have tips about where I can reach people on the internet that are interested in traveling? Budget is not really a concern for me, but since I don't plan on making any money with my blog, I am not to keen on spending thousands of dollars on Google advertising just to get visitors.

In the past I always used youtube advertising and adwords to promote any services and products that I wished to sell (later I was able to hire a internet marketing team to do all the advertising for me).

Pretty much in any case it would cost me thousands of dollars before I saw a return in investment and it took me quite a few years to build a customer base that was profitable enough to make a fortune. Quote honestly, if I was not so madly passionate about being rich then I don't believe that I would have spend so much time and energy into becoming successful. It took a crazy amount of time, energy and effort to get where I am today.

With that said, as you can understand I do not want to spend that much money, time and energy on building a following for my blog when all I want to do is inspire people.

My question is are there ways to promote a blog such as mine without having to spend a lot of money, time and energy?

    No. You need 1 or the other.

    If you're not willing to spend money then you need time and effort. Usually you need both.

    Hey Rich,

    There's loads of ways you can promote a blog (regardless of the niche), however one of the most effective ways is to guest post for top blog owners in your niche.

    That may sound a bit counterproductive however it's an extremely effective method of driving traffic back to your new blog.

    Guest blog posting isn't a new concept it's been around for years and you'll find all the top blog owners who hold authority used this very strategy starting out.

    It'll take a bit of time and ton of networking and connecting..

    Before reaching out to authority blogs in your niche get some posts on your own blog demonstrating your writing skills, knowledge and experience then start reaching out to see how you can help them.

    Some may advertise on their blogs for guest writers, others may not so contact them anyway you can...

    If you don't want to spend a lot of time, money and energy then you can probably try these:

    Use Social Media. You can start by sharing your blog posts via Facebook and Twitter.
    Use free pinging tools (Ping your blog posts).
    Use Google Plus, Reddit, Pinterest, StumbleUpon and Instagram.
    Connect with bloggers in the travel niche. If you don't feel like blog guest posting then just leave sincere blog comments.

    If you have a reasonable budget then simply outsource these tasks. In that way, you have more control of your time and energy.

          You can also put an original article based on one of your blog postings on sites such as infobarrel and squidoo and put your blogs url in your signature.

          This will draw traffic from your articles to your blog and its free

    Great content + leveraging other peoples audience is super effective for me.

    I try and make every post REALLY great (sometimes I miss the mark but you can't always hit a home run) and often link out to or reference other people in the niche who have big audiences.

    I also network with people, share their content, link to them, ego-bait them, ask them for their opinions to include on post and then once I've posted let them know about it.

    I'll also contact people who have shared and linked to similar content or who I believe will like it and tell them about it - get a lot of shares on social media this way.

    I would start answering questions on travel forums and maybe even try to become a resident expert if you have expertise in any special areas.

    Another way would be to start a Facebook fan page for your blog and for areas of the world or tourist sites that you like and promote your blog that way.

    Quite honestly, if you really want to spend your time blogging for no reason, then connect to Facebook, twitter and other social networks and do it from there.

    No matter what you are trying to promote...socail media is always best place, i am getting around 100 to 150 visitors everyday from twitter and i think its must to build your followers, here are few suggestion you might wanna check
    1. Get More twitter followers-Tricks and Legit ways
    2. Send Direct message to all followers by one click :Twitter Tips

    You keep saying how rich you are and that you made a "fortune" online.

    You say you want to inspire people and although you say "Budget is not really a concern for me" you aren't willing to even layout for a WordPress blog or even spend a few thousand of your "fortune" to promote your blog?

    Unless your definition of "fortune" is completely different from mine you are either very tight with your money or all this is a complete sham...

      I thought it was just me that found it fishy. I couldn't understand why anyone who is rich beyond belief through internet marketing would use a brand new free weebly site and not know how to promote a blog. :rolleyes:

    And guess what??? I also purchased a lovely mansion today in Miami. I really love this place so I couldn't resist. Its a 80,000 Square-Foot Miami Beach Mansion and I am not going to tell you how much it costed me because it would shock you LOL. I own 3 luxury homes already and I guess this is now my fourth.
    I also bought some new clothes at Armani (741 LINCOLN ROAD) and I am loving it!

    But, I gotta axe man; how much did that mansion costed you?

    YouTube for your videos and Flicker / Pinterest / Instagram / Tumblr for photos..

    Check this out:

    I suggest you to promote your YT channel and videos with TubeAssist (google it).... Works fine for me, because all subscribers are 100% real and targeted.

    Do not forget to connect all those profiles into your Facebook and Twitter account.. Share your content on weekly basis on all SM profiles you have..

    If you run site on a WordPres I suggest you to set up a small community (Q&A style) to share information between your visitors.. WP plugin is called BBPress and it's completely free.

    Also you can write a few guest posts each month to get more traffic and backlinks - MyBlogGuest.com (copy & paste in your browser)

    Well I guess you have already found out that you can get free traffic from here by making a ridiculous post about how you make a bunch of money but don't want to spend any money.

    You have gotten at least 5-10 visitors so far from this post probably, so just rinse and repeat jkjk, please don't

    Wait a minute. If you've traveling experience you've to say "I am planning to travel the Rest of the world"
    Your sub conscience is playing games with you.
    Anyhow, which countries have you been to?
