How many domains do you own?

Thought this would make for an interesting topic. How many domains do you own? And out of those, how many of them are developed websites?

I own 17 domains and I have 9 websites. (Some still in their infant stages so can hardly be called a developed website haha).

    23. One is a developed site. Some are for future use. And, others are forwarded domains to affiliates or back to my main site.

At my highest I had 300 domains. I registered, bought, sold, developed, traded and flipped them. Some I let expire and am kicking myself for it too. Nothing like seeing a $9 domain registered, only to let it expire and see someone else picked it up, sold it on auction for hundreds!

I'm getting more in the next couple of months for developing and "stashing" for future projects, etc.

  • I have about 10. 2 of them I am very focused on. Two of them I just own for my customers who didn't want to mess with domain ownership. The rest just sit out there and make me a few dollars per month so it doesn't make sense to let them expire, but I don't put any effort into them.

I used to have over 100, dropped to 80 all with full sites on.

I set them up during the happy days of ranking long tail keywords in an afternoon - sadly those days have gone.

Most made little money from adsense / clickbank and I'm letting most expire when it comes to renewing. I don't regret it - I learnt a lot about setting up blogs and most at least covered their expenses if not my time.

I now work actively on about 5 sites and have found focus the best course of action.

Owning the domains allows you to "reserve" the seat before it becomes "hot". So it is always good to do some research and "gamble" on some names to buy.

But for developed site, I believed should be kept to minimum, so long they are spinning money for you...

    Cheers!

I own 47 domains, all are active but most only have one or two articles on them and adsense. I have a tendency to have a brilliant idea, buy a domain for it then not follow through.
