Which landing page is it better?

Hi Warriors,

I'd like to ask you which landing page is better? Or which one you prefer. Or personally which one you like better if you visit a website?

Option 1: The video start automatically
Option 2: You start the video manually

I appropriate your opinion.

As a visitor I prefer one that does not start automatically. I hate getting blasted with an automatic video.

But on the other side, I promote an affiliate product that has the video start automatically and the conversions are very high.

If looking at it from a profit standpoint, easy enough to split test and see which gets you more conversions.

    Thanks, Shane

Personaly, I would like to choose the option 2. For me a video that start automatically is really annoying.

Personally for a landing page I like a video that starts automatically, provided there is enough description below to tell me what I need to know that I can scroll down if I want and get the pertinent info.
Another think to consider, if you're testing, is whether or not to hide the video controls.

I will try the split test to find out.
It's difficult which one is better. For somebody is annoying the automatically started video for somebody is not. For me personally I like better to start the video myself. But here is the point which converts better.

I reckon you should test them, as you can see from this thread, opinions vary. Find out what works better for the people you are targeting.

Personally I find it annoying if it plays automatically but there's a lot to be said for cutting down the number of clicks that a prospect has to make.

Split test it, like everything you want to know what works better

Whichever you chose (and I prefer to start it myself) please make sure that there is good quality sound.

I don't watch many video's. I am hard of hearing and most video's have very low sound or poor quality sound. Even with my hearing aids in I switch off if there is ANY music in the background, as that takes precedence over the voices and I cannot hear clearly.

Most marketers do not care if hard of hearing people miss out on their offer, but they SHOULD, because we still buy things. I bought something just today because I could hear what was being offered. It matters.

Option 2 every time, but to be honest, I like to see a transcript of the video. I prefer reading to watching and having to listen to some dude's annoying voice

You all say that the video should start manually, but if it`s a page with just the video, no text, then having the video starting automatically will increase the sales, trust me. Been there, done that. You land to a page with no text, just a video that you have to start yourself. Doesn`t seem like a great salespage, does it ?

I really detest the idea of auto playback. It doesn't seem natural and it doesn't seem polite, but hey, we must "put on our marketer's hat and stop thinking like a customer", right?

Yes, clicking a button is so f. tedious these days that we need to auto start the video for the visitor - we wouldn't want him to feel tired after such a grueling task, would we?

I think the next sensible advancement in this regard would be to auto-click the 'Place order' button once they enter all of the required credit card details.

    +1 for split testing.

There are plenty of reasons to do or not to do either one. But one size never fits all, so you have to test your own visitors.
