Need Help: Need to hire staff but have no idea where to start

Hey Guys,

I need your advice on something.

I'm at the stage where my business is big enough where I need to hire staff to help me with my workload.

I'm constantly doing new things and getting bigger and bigger but I am finding that there aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done.

I mean sometimes it can take me a couple of hours just answering PM's here!

So I have now realised that I simply need to hire some people to work for me.

But I have never hired anyone to work for me full time and I have no idea how the process goes.

The other thing is how do I hire people without it getting too expensive?

I know a lot of people get outsourcing from India but how reliable is it and is it a problem with the time difference?

Anyway I would love to get some advice and feedback on the subject.

Please help.

Thanks,
Tristan

Sounds like you need a VA right? Why don't you try Agents of Value | Webmaster Outsourcing Services It's an outsourcing company in the Philippines and can do all sorts of things aside from virtual assisting too. You'll be paying between $600-$800/month for one person, but I think you get them full-time, so it's totally worth it.

Well, I have been outsourcing some of my workloads on Phil. And they offer just great service. They can do better on article writing and admin task as compare to Indian companies who I have done business with few months back.

  • It really depends upon what you want to outsource. I've used GetFriday before and the assistant I was allocated was excellent. They mainly dealt with admin type activities for me.

Here's what I did.... I ran a free help wanted ad asking for interns... it seems there are more free places to post a help wanted ad than you can shake a stick at.

Amazingly, the unemployment rate among 20 yr olds is something like 20% !!!
I didn't know that. I hired a journalist college student, she wrote content for me in ezinearticles and I was gonna give her a column in my local Frederick Magazine blog but her school work load was too much for her.

Guess what! it seems having a help wanted ad when everyone else is ditching employees was a PR bonanza I did not expect.

My phone rang off the hook and the local paper called me for an interview! I almost got in the paper inadvertently!!!
(the editor killed the story because I compete with them and said some not nice things about print media on my blog ( Life in Frederick Maryland )

    Hi Tristan,
How about hiring someone right here on the Warrior forum?
In fact, how about taking on an apprentice? Someone to help you with your business in exchange for coaching or mentoring them with their business.
    Win Win.
    Kind regards,
    Tony
