Sending Amazon gifts/stuff to others

Hi,

I was wondering how do you guys send out gifts and other stuff to people you engage with on your website?

This could be either some contest, giveaways, or just maybe a gift to your writers if you have a multi-author blog. I'm more interested in sending stuff I buy online, rather than sending it from my own home so that it goes straight from Amazon to that person.

Do you just send it using your own name, or is there a way to buy stuff of Amazon, send it to that person's address without revealing your real name and/or address to the recipient?

I don't have a corporation/company set up, so I can't use that name like some others do.

    Hey TLondon,

To send gifts through Amazon without having your name on the package you could always order the item, and say that it is a gift. There should be an option for it. I have done this many times in the past for affiliate events, birthdays, and other special occasions. It always worked for me.

    I hope that helps ya.

    Eric

I've done giveaways in the past on my blog where I send someone an Amazon gift card. Works pretty well at bringing in traffic. I didn't worry too much about my name and info being attached to the card.

Edit: I forgot to add I sent gift cards via email.

In the product page you have the option of sending as gift. So far I have only sent ebooks; in that case you only need the email.
The times I sent physical gifts (mostly for Christmas), I just changed the delivery address.

I often send gift cards to my Amazon customers as part of incentivizing them to opt-in to my niche lists. It's also effective and convenient for rewarding my writing staff.

Thanks for your input, guys. Very good advice.

I'll try the gift option once I'm ready to send something, hopefully that works.

myob, if you don't mind me asking, how often do you reward your writing staff, and what do you usually get them? I assume you don't pay them, just the gifts, right?

My writers are local part-time college/graduate students, and they are paid a very good hourly wage. I also give them Amazon gift cards for holidays, birthdays, completion of applicable courses, and as often as they produce exceptional articles that generate revenue above an internal threshold.

The amount of the gift card can vary widely based on production, accuracy, revenue generation, adherence to writing standards/policy/training, and other factors combined for an overall assessment of merit.

Thanks for the input. Let me just ask you one last question.

You say you pay them hourly. Do they work out of the office? And if not, if they are telecommuting, how do you count the hours? Thanks.

My writers and other office staff are regular employees (a few are interns), and clock in/out using a time clock as scheduled. Personally, my management style is not compatible with telecommuters or freelance writers.
