I recently bought a software that can convert swf video files to avi, flv and other formats, but there is a problem. When I just input one swf file, the software automatically starts playing and capturing the file, and automatically converts it to another format afterwards. The problem is, I can't get this to work with a batch of files. Here is what happens: I set the software up to convert at batch of 10 swf files. Everything is set up to go automatically. Two hours later the software has finished and put out 10 flv files. But when you open the flv files, all that is shown is the "Play now"-button-page that was first in each swf file. So basically, after two hours of waiting, I have 10 videos displaying a button. I guess the software did not press the play button on each video? I need a software that will automatically convert large batches of swf files to other formats. And when I say automatically, I mean automatically. I don't want to do anything other than choose a batch of files, make the initial settings, and press "convert". Mouse-clicking in between each video? No thanks, that's a waste of time! ![]() I don't mind paying for a software that works. Any help/software suggestions is greatly appreciated! |

It doesn't look like that software will convert *.SWF files, but thanks for the suggestion. More suggestions, anyone? |

I use Super for all of my video conversions. It does a great job, and it's free (though trying to find the download link on Super's pages is a nightmare). It does a better job than tools I've paid significant money for.

Video conversion is funky stuff. Videos fail to convert for all kinds of reasons. It could be your hardware or inadequate memory on your machine. You may be blaming the software for failing in the batch job when it's doing the best it can with what you are giving it. I prefer to do video rendering and converting first thing - when the computer is cool and has been OFF for several hours. Video work puts a heavy load on the processor, creating heat and sometimes leading to errors. Turn-off AntiVirus software. Disconnect from the internet completely by disabling the hardware that does it. Shut down extraneous background software. Then see if you can convert. |
