Haven't recieved payments from buyer on Ebay!!

This is my first sale, but how do I know if I actually recieved the payments?

It said on Ebay that the buyer has paid, but I checked my paypal account, and it didn't have anything yet. I also checked my Chase Bank Account, and it didn't even have anything in there either.

And then I just linked my ebay account to my paypal today. If I linked my accounts today, does PayPal still know who to pay?

So did I receive the payment?

You really want to become more famiar with ebay before selling any more items. If you didn't link your paypal account until after it sold, your paypal may not have shown up as a payment method when they bought the item. The money won't show up in your bank until you transfer it there.

However, your paypal is now linked and it's not too late. Hit contact buyer and ask thrm when they'll pay. If no response within 24 hours, go to the resolution center and open a case. If you need help with this, call ebay 866-540-3229.

Always double check if they paid! Sometimes the buyer marked it as paid but it isn't. Check your paypal and your account again. If he doesn't paid contact him and ask what went wrong. if you still haven't receive the money contact ebay or open a case!

They might be waiting for a tracking number or for the buyer to mark it as received before paying you.

Next time require payment at time of purchase, for all of your auctions.

  • I would send them an invoice or e-mail since you just linked your Paypal and they may have been unable to pay before now.

It's a good business practice (and common courtesy) to give them a few days to respond before opening an unpaid item case. Once you do open the case, eBay will reimburse you directly if the buyer hasn't made payment within a certain period (somewhere between 14 and 21 days, I believe), so don't worry about not getting paid in the end.
