This site uses Cookies 'notification'

Hi all,

So I am building a site which uses Amazon affiliate links (more affiliates will be used in the future)

Do I need a notification to inform the user about Cookies and if so does anybody know of a good one, my site is built on WP if there is a plugin for such a thing,

Many thanks

Marko

Every site should have a privacy statement and a terms of use statement. Normally, that is where you would notify your visitors of any cookies use in your business.

Google is your friend if you don't want to hire legal help to craft your strategy. A generic but well crafted disclaimer is better than nothing.

I think the 'cookies' notification is only for the UK.

You need an affiliate earnings disclaimer stating you are an Amazon associate to comply with Amazon TOS, but you don't need a "We use cookies" notification unless you are in the UK.

It's for all the EU, and if you cater for visitors from EU countries, you need to display a warning.

If you're using WordPress, the Eu Cookie Law plugin is a neat way of doing this.

If you look at the Amazon affiliate TOS they give you a disclaimer to add to your site.

There are also a lot of privacy policy templates out there. Just make sure you are free to use it from the copyright holder.
