Hey everybody,

I was on Clickbank a few minutes ago and wanted to create a hoplink for a product.

So I entered my username and clicked on create hoplink. But the created hoplink didn't contain my username. It was made out of many numbers. When I go to cbengin and create my hoplink there, it still creates the hoplink with the username in it.

Has this something to do with my account ? Or is it just Clickbanks new way of creating hoplinks ?

Greetings
D.

I believe it a new way for clickbank to create hoplinks. Something about hiding your aff links better.

Take that link and put it into a new browser window to pull up the sales page, pretend you're going to make a purchase and see if your cb nickname appears in the spot that identifies the affiliate on the order page.

    It should be yours.

If not something is surely wrong.

    Hope This Helps!!

    D,

    It's not a problem link.

Clickbank now cloaks the affiliate links they generate in an attempt to help eliminate commission theft. The affiliate and vendor nicknames are encrypted so that it is more difficult for someone to use your link add their affiliate name to the link and steal your commission.

    Does it prevent commission theft?

Maybe, but sooner or later someone will figure out a way to circumvent the system. Build a better mouse trap and you'll eventually get mice that learn to avoid the trap.

But at least Clickbank is finally attempting to address that issue. Now if they'll just improve their tracking life would be sweet!

You can try to click the 'Buy Now' buttonof the affiliate product, and check the hoplink in payment page. I think you can find your username in that payment link.

I created a hoplink last week and noticed the difference also. So I followed the link to the sales page, pretended I was making a sale and sure enough, there was my hoplink ID at the bottom of the payment page...so I knew it was REALLY my affiliate link.

its basically the clickbank "in-house" tinyurl clone It does nothing more than encode your ID in the link.
