Is PPV Marketing a Scam?

My fellow warriors please I would like your honesty here for those of you that have tried Pay Per View (PPV) marketing. Personally, I think it is a very difficult marketing system given that it is obstructive and require a good tracking mechanism to be setup for the URLs you are targeting. There have been lots of crappy WSO on PPV. In fact 99.99999% of PPV WSOs are bullshit (excuse my french). Here is what I would like to know:

1. I would like to know if anybody is making money using only PPV marketing?

2. What are the best practices in relation to PPV marketing?

3. What PPV networks (excluding Trafficvance) have you tried and what was your conversion
rate (if any)?

It obviously works, or it wouldn't exist all over the place.

I tried Clicksor at its basic level ($20 upfront) and got ver tiny results.
Maybe the platform isn't the best of the world, or maybe my LP didn't convert very well.
I know about TrafficVance ($1,000 upfront) and LeadImpact ($200 upfront) and those are well known PPV networks that will probably work better than Clicksor.
However I think PPV method is highly intrusive and in most cases the lead closes the popup without even taking a short look at it.
That's what I and a lot of my friends use to do when an unexpected popup window interfieres in the search, eventhough the ad be somehow related to my search.
      It bothers me.
Besides that you should be prepared to invest a bunch of money in that kind of traffic before getting some ROI.
But this is just my opinion, and I know that a lot of people out there are doing well with PPV (I guess they're investing good money in PPV ads though).

If you invest the time to learn it, it can be a great source of traffic. It's a large part of my overall traffic strategy.

    1. $8-$20k a month - depends on the time of year and available offers.
    2. Depends on what you are using it for.
    3. I won't answer this as I don't want to increase my bid competition - but conversion rates will also depend on your offer/landing page, keyword selection, load time, etc. etc. etc.... Even the best network won't do anything for you if your landing page is 3x the visible area of the popup window and takes 20 seconds to load.

If you are really considering investing time to learn this, step 1 is to get a VPS with a SSD and very little network congestion. Step 2 - CPV Lab. Step 3 - hire a developer that you can afford to work with regularly because you will want to get a lot of landers built for testing.

I burn 25-50 landers before finding one that converts really well. Once I have a profitable lander, I scale that out to all of the other PPV networks, invest, track and remove non-converting keywords as I go.

That having been said, I'm not interested in teach PPV traffic to any greater extent than this.

NO its not, but it is tricky and hard to make money with it..... remember...in a lot of cases the last affiliate cookie gets the credit for the sales....LOL...PPV is always the last cookie.... Scoundrels like me find way to make that work to our advantage

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
