Okay warriors, I kind of and am still deciding and planning out my route to make a form of income with a wso. I am near decision and I know I'll be starting up a website and will have to get traffic towards that website, and build lists with squeeze pages etc etc.. But actually making money from a website , a domain I started, do I have to have some sort of legal entitle registration of my business and some sort of business degree education, to be able to generate and make money from a website I created. I just am making sure because I don't want to go downhill and knowing I'm catching onto business fast and very well, I wouldn't want to make a mistake. This would be just a website I manage and handle sole-proprietorship. If any help or useful information could be elaborated to what I mentioned that would be great and helpful.

Thanks,

Matt

Yes, you should register your business if you want to operate as such and come across as a serious entrepreneur. Even though I'm sure that thousands of marketers online sell products without having a business registered, I trust that it will someday come back to bite them in the rear.

No you do not need a business degree in order to be able to generate and make money from a website. You do need to have some general business knowledge however if you want your venture to be a success. Lacking some basic business skills is why so many folks fail online.

The registration question isn't as cut and dried as previous
posters make it out to be.

If you're doing business under another name then, yes, in
every state in the United States you will be required to complete
and submit a "DBA" form at the county level... most likely the County
    Recorder.

If you choose to do business under your own name you are perfectly OK
to operate as a sole proprietor without filing the form.

If you choose to do business as any other form... corporation, partnership
or trust you will need to speak with an attorney to get the best advice for
    your situation.

Though it is an investment, if you are doing business as a 'company' rather than as 'you', you really need a relationship with both an attorney and an accountant. It's very likely that you can get this advice in an initial consultation for free or very inexpensively, so don't pay exorbitant fees to get some basic direction on this from reliable sources.
