Hi guys! I am new to internet marketing. I just started an email campaign and I am not getting any responses. I gathered email addresses and sent an email to the list every one to two weeks for purchases. It has only been two to three weeks so far. Any advice on how to increase sales?

If I'm hearing this correctly, you are only sending emails out once a week...

Or only once every 2 weeks?

While thatis one way to go about doing it...

I highly recommend sending out much, much more often than that

Thanks for the information. I send the emails once a week and sometimes once every two weeks. It sounds like I need to send them more often like once every few days......

Since you are new to internet marketing and this is your first post - there are some proven ways to conduct successful email campaigns you will be interested in. There are things you do and do not do.

    Do:

    1) Build your list of people that opted-in to your list.
    2) Build your list of people that showed an interest in your subject matter and product.

    Do not:
    1) Build your list with people that did not opt-in to your list. This includes 'harvested email addresses' aka SPAM.
    2) Never send emails to people that promote unrelated products.

Ways that increase sales and creates traffic to your website and promotions:
    1) When possible, always send your subscribers to your own website page that promotes you and your product.
    2) Present yourself as an authority on the subject and product whenever possible.

Those are just some of the important aspects.

    Be the honest marketer:
The main thing is to earn a stable income through your email campaigns and your websites. There are many ways to earn a stable income, but the most important is to follow a few guidelines such as "always be the honest marketer."

    Hope it helps.

    Great answer Jeffery.

    I agree 100%.

I also think there are too many loose ends in that question to give out any good help.

    We don't know the niche,
We don't know how those email is "harvested"
We don't know what those people who opted in got as a reason to opt-in.
And we don't know if those people are in a desperate situation and really need a solution.

These loose ends are just the beginning. I could have come up with many more questions we need to know before giving any adequate answer to your problem.

To many people think that they can make some money online harvesting some email addresses and send out a promotion with an affiliate link, and the money will roll in.

Sorry, that is not how it works.

    - Oddvar.

Thanks for helping. I added info below.

We don't know the niche, - Gift baskets and team building
We don't know how those email is "harvested" - will be posting adds on craigslist for both jobs and baskets. Only receive responses on jobs.
We don't know what those people who opted in got as a reason to opt-in. - They send me an email with interest in the business opportunity or baskets.
And we don't know if those people are in a desperate situation and really need a solution. - Since I just get responses on jobs, that must be the desperate situation. If they need to order for baskets, it could get desperate when the occasion comes.

      About gift baskets.

One of my client's is a husband & wife home business and sells gift baskets to mainly businesses and also to individuals. We created an affiliate program for them, so other home based gift basket teams could sell the gift baskets. It seriously increased sales because some home based teams could not maintain their own website, did not know much about marketing, did not know enough about business. So you will want to consider that approach.

The trick to the trade, stable income, is the geographics and communications. Gift basket sales went up when the business focused on one town at a time (geographics) & maintained excellent communications with clients (email campaigns).

One example is creating an account for a business. There are businesses that send gift baskets to a long list of its own clients on a regular schedule. Setting up an account that automatically sends the gifts to the list & bills the business monthly is easy to do.

Plus there's a lot of great information on email marketing out there. First and foremost, put your subscribers' needs ahead of your own. That's the main priority.

That said, it's worth investing in some training that will help you communicate as effectively as possible with your list.

    Hi marketingwomen

You need to send a lot more mails than that. A strong campaign involves several mails.

I've just finished a campaign for a new product and Was an intense campaign. One or even two mails every single day for almost two weeks. The outcome Was awsome.

In regular times (no launching products or re launching) I eMail my list every monday morning and the open rate is great.

You just need to get to know your list, how your people respond to your campaigns and your newsletter, and that takes time and lot of observation. Ask them for feedback also and even when you email them just to sell something give them info of big value.

    Good luck!

You definitely want to communicate with your list a lot more often. Some would even suggest at least once per day. The thing is you don't want to only sell to your list. You want to provide value and entertain your list as well. You want to keep a good ratio of value/entertaining messages versus messages where you're selling your product or service. This way your list doesn't think you're just trying to make money from them. This should also make for a more responsive list.

Dont forget to build a relationship with your list. Give them something more, something for free, something they are intested in...

And yes, you should send your emails more often!

Wow! If you just collected emails and started mailing them, you might be actually breaking the law. How about getting those folks to opt in to a list? That way they'll be expecting to hear from you.

Email marketing is almost a science. That means you have to test, test and yeah test. Therefore write more mails and see what is working. Build trust and a relationship with your list that's the to success with it.

I hope you build your list the proper way, with permission to mail them otherwise it's called spam and that's the worst way to start building a list and a successful business with it.

There are lots of people here telling you to mail your list more often, but if I have read correctly how you are building your list, that's the LAST thing you should be doing!

If I have read you correctly your list is mainly made up of people who have responded to your Craigslist ads in the hope that you will have a job for them.

We don't know how those email is "harvested" - will be posting adds on craigslist for both jobs and baskets. Only receive responses on jobs.

We don't know what those people who opted in got as a reason to opt-in. - They send me an email with interest in the business opportunity or baskets.
So you are collecting emails of people who want to make baskets as a job. People, one must presume, who are already desperate for money. And then you are sending them promotional emails trying to get them to spend money with you.

If I was in their shoes I would report you as a spammer to your ISP, host and autoresponder company very quickly. It may be that this is not a particularly sophisticated Internet-savvy market, which has saved you from that.

Mailing these people MORE OFTEN is not the answer.

    Building a better list is.

And making sure the people who get on your list know exactly what you plan to send them would be a good start to that relationship.

After that, how often you mail a hot and responsive list that looks forward to your emails is up to you. Send stuff to them as often as you can be entertaining, informative, friendly and have something of real use to offer them.

Email marketing different aspects, and each aspect needs special consideration.

most people use random lists which have already been abused and juiced out.

moreover there is a difference between email marketing and spamming.

If you just got the list out of no where , or scraped it you are certainly spamming it.
Also if the list is of X niche and you are emailing Z niche, it wont work!
Moreover the other part is the email content and the way you are able to convince the reader...to open it, click and act on it.

And the most important part , how are you able to inbox it, are your techniques correct, do you rotate IPs, warm it UP, Email content, have clean reputation, SPF/DKIM config etc.

There is more to it that above...

Happy to help if you have other queries.

Without knowing the ad copy, it sounds like you're playing the old MLM bait and switch trick. Even back before the Internet, unscrupulous MLMers would place "help wanted" ads in newspaper classifieds. The "interview" was a pitch to buy into the opportunity.

It sounds like you are doing pretty much the same thing, only using craigslist and email.

If I was desperate and looking for a job, and got one of these bait and switch offers, I'd go even further than Martin. I'd file a fraud complaint with the cops, naming both you and the basket company.

And people wonder why network marketing/MLM has such a rotten reputation...

I realize there is more to this email marketing. It is a slow build with an opt-in list. A lot of things must be done to build the relationship and give free information to.

    Thanks!
