I made an eBook, how do I sell it?

I made an eBook in the Money Making Niche, I don't have experience selling eBooks, so is it really as easy as putting it up on the WSO and making sales?

I don't have a list. The eBook is a very popular business model because anyone can do it, it's just a lot of physical work.

How easy will it be to sell it on here?

I have found that people attempt to use the WSO as a cop-out for traffic generation.

The Liklihood of it selling decreases with the more Competition that you have.

And on a WSO, how many people do you think would buy after seeing you admit to not having experience selling?

    Answer: Very Few.

I'd suggest you build a webpage, and use various traffic generation techniques to drive targeted traffic to your offer.

All you need is one html page + Copy and you can use paypal as your payment processor.

I think it would depend on the ebook topic, that would decide if people will buy it, not on his understanding of specificly selling ebooks.

Adventureman, As you are hoping to be an entrepreneur, I would suggest you to take a few bricks and bats by providing review copies to some of the senior members here in WF.

Ask for honest suggestions on your business model and if they make you swallow your pride, be proud to do so. And, refine your model. That's what Entrepreneurs are, right?

Why are you so apprehended to say that your model requires physical work? No sweat, No eat. Even though every WSO states of a push button model, there is nothing sweeter than what's earned through hard work, perseverance and perspiration. So, keep it that way.

Shoot me a PM if you want me to have a look. But, be prepared for an honest review though.

Damn, this section is not meant for 'Reviews'. My apologies.

For selling the ebook (or anything at all) I would:

    1) Make a swipe file of all the top producing copy on the subject you´re planning to get into.

Make some research, look for top converting offers on the web, clickbank, others.

I would also get a hold on top would go to a top copywriters ads on the subject (or any subject at all) and read them all outloud. Here´s a page where you can find some top copywriter´s ads: Best Advertising Collection | Hard To Find Editorial Ads

Here´s some names of top copywriters that comes to mind:

    Gary Bencivenga
    Gary Halbert
    John Carlton
    Eugene Schwartz

There´s a lot more. You can google it and found some. WARNING: At this stage, I recommend you to only be influenced by LEGEND copywriters.

It doesn´t matter how old the ads may be. What really matters is you to get insights on what could make your costumers tick.

    2) I would follow the classic ad formula to write my ad: AIDA.

A - Attention: Write a powerful headline that grabs their attention.
I - Interest: Tell your whole story.
D - Desire: Sell the benefits of the book, not only the features (i.e. If they are going to get some money, why would that be important to them, will they be able to make it fast? will they be able to go on vacations with that money? Buy a car?)
A - Action: User a really strong call to action.

    3) Focus your whole presentation around the PROOF.

It could be proof of other people using your material (social proof)
    Showing some numbers.
Or, if the product is based on processes and systems invented by some other person, then sell the other person track record, and proof.

    4) Never lie. You don´t need to.

    5) Make a compelling guarantee.

A 60 days money back guarantee.
A 365 Days money back guarantee.
A double your money back guarantee.
A buy it now, pay later guarantee.

    Etc, etc.

You need to test that. Focus on the end result. The statistical result. The only result that counts: client satisfaction, and of course: money in your pocket.

    6) Target your offer to the people that more likely will respond to it.

The best ad in the world won´t sell if you show it to people that doesn´t have any interest in what you´re selling.

    7) Send traffic to that offer.

Facebook PPC, Forums, facebook groups, Adwords.

You´ve got to test that offer, then optimized for better results, or cut your losses short if you need to.

For specific tactics to send traffic to the offer, check out this forum, Google, courses, others.

Just use this criteria: ONLY PUT YOUR HANDS ON SOMETHING YOU CAN APPLY IMMEDIATELY.

Experience is always the best teacher.

    8) Learn from the results. Repeat.

    Hope it helps.

If your ebook is about actually DOING something physical - such as digging ditches and selling the soil, or building backyard playhouses for kids and selling them at garage sales - I'm not sure a WSO would be the right place to market your ebook, as the WSO audience (myself included) seem more into making money by selling digital products or offline services. Maybe you could provide more detail and/or as someone else noted, a review copy.

If you want to sell your ebook, people have to want to buy it. And so people want to buy your book, they must know that they will find something interesting in it. You must be either well known in the industry in which you want to sell electronic product. Or first build your brand in the web to get large audience who'll be interested by your products. So create good blog with lot of usefull advices, create own mailing list. And after that things focus on the ebook
