Warriors Need Your Opinion - Are These Good For A New Site??

I was looking at the visitor, hops and sales statistics for a new site of mine and am now wondering how well it was doing.

No of visitors: 1,182
No of hoplink clicks: 365
No of sales: 7

Visitors who click my hoplinks: 30% (365/1,182)
Hoplink "clickers" who actually buy: 2% (7/365)

Is this good/average/bad?? Any and all opinions welcomed!

Thanks!

Kelvin

Maybe a little more info on where the visitors came from would help us determine that...

Eg. PPC, natural search engine traffic, signature links, etc...

    Jim:

    Thanks for chiming in!

The majority are from articles with resource boxes pointing directly to the site. Still working on them there SEO thingys!

In that case, for free traffic, it is pretty good!

If you really wanted to get into detailed analysis, taking into account how long it takes to write an article, how much your time is worth, etc...You would be able to actually work out a ROI figure, but at this point, you should probably just continue what you are doing...

    Matt: Thanks for the suggestion!

    Jim: Thanks for the encouragement!

All things considered, I need about 15-20 minutes to punch out an article. Typically I write and submit 3 articles a day for this site. How much is my time worth? I'm not sure I know! Do you mean in relation to the income from this site? Or to your overall IM business (assuming there IS one!)

Ok, well usually you want your hops to be at 50% at least, considering all they have to do is click thru, after that, but the 2% is decent, depending on the price of the product. I would definitely be doing some testing on the landing page though to get more hops.

The whole concept is based on arbitrary numbers...

    Eg.

Say you have 100 articles generating clicks for you.

You made 7 sales so far.

You expect sales to continue at this pace for a few months.

    Each sale nets you $30

    Total cost is $210

Each article is worth $2.10 per month to you

You write 3 articles per hour. If the articles produce the same amount of sales for three months, you are currently earning $18.90 per hour (Not taking into account submission times, etc)

If this is better than what you could be making elsewhere, you are doing good...

Mary: 50% huh? Wow, and I was happy with 30%! LOL You're right of course, I should try and improve my landing page. Thanks!

Oh and the product price is in fact $30.

Jim: Thanks for outlining that. You've got me reaching out for my trusty calculator now...

So is it fair to say that a site that has a visitor click-through rate to hoplinks of 50%, and a 5% conversion from hoplinks to sales is a high performing site? (Just to be clear, I'm referring to "free" traffic from articles and SEO.)

Is any warrior experiencing better than these percentages? And if yes, could you share what you think you're doing right?

    Thanks!

Do you have a follow up sequence in place for customers who aren't buying on their first visit...From my experience that could nearly double conversion...

    Just something to think about.
