Effective ways to build list

Hi,

What are the effective ways to build list now a days. Earlier giving a free ebook in return of email is good, but seems like it is not working any more.

Can you guys suggest me of what are the effective ways to build list now a days.

Currently i am on health niche, by narrowing it is a disease related.

I tried participating in the disease related forums, but no forum is allowing a link in my signature. So, Forum posting is out of my hands.

And barely, there are few disease related blogs where i can post a guest post, the blogs i see are webmd.com, medicinenet etc.. Which i don't stand a chance to post my article there.

I even tried advertising in adwords with my squeeze page, but squeeze page is not acceptable in adwords. Tried other ppc networks like 7search, but they have very low volume.

Any ideas?

You can upload short, informative videos on YouTube that link to your squeeze page. A bit of keyword research will help you come up with titles for the videos and the content you'll be covering, etc.

You can make a simple text based video using Windows Movie Maker. Lay it out in point form so it's easy for the viewer to digest and then end the video with a link to your squeeze page or simply put the link in the description box.

Alternatively, you could probably find someone on Fiverr to talk on camera for you using your script. Might have to pay a little more than $5 depending on the length of the script you give them.

    Good luck.

Try searching out solo ad providers related to your niche. You may also be able to find some clickbanking partners either in Skype groups or Facebook groups but of course they need to be in your niche as well. Hope this helps.

    Who says that?

Why not simply do it? Works for me.

That does not work. Waste of money.

If you spent 50% as much time in this forum providing help as you do with short non helpful (and often condescending) posts then you would be one of the most helpful members of this forum...

I'm not sure if you are aware of the purpose of this forum... Which is to help each other grow our businesses.

I crack up at how much time you spend bashing solo ads. Now if you would just spend some time helping people instead of insinuating that they are wasting time and money...

      To the OP:

These days you are correct. People don't get nearly as excited about a "free report" as they did in 2005...

      However, there is a solution...

You can use videos or software instead since they have a higher perceived value.

You can easily have a software created for you that has the same information in it as your report. You can also turn the information in the report into a video very easily.

If you don't have the skill set to do this then you can easily hire someone from Fiverr, etc.

Also, you should do a Google search for blogs in your niche and check and see if they have an opt-in form on their site. If they do have an opt-in form then you should contact the blog owner and see if they will sell you a solo ad. These lists are normally some of the most responsive ones you can find as they are rarely "advertised" to.

      Hope this helps. Good luck.

      Cheers,
      Coby

People don't get excited about free reports as they did before because most marketers nowadays give free reports with no value whatsoever.

    Hi All,

Thanks for the suggestions so far,

I tried youtube, getting few visitors only even if i ranked my videos on the first page.
Solo ads - I didn't find any solo ads providers in my niche.
Social media marketing - In social media marketing, it is very hard to target certain health conditioned people.

The niche has very much good potential, but not getting any ideas to drive traffic to my squeeze page.

Try looking for FB groups related to the disease. I'm sure they exist. Join them and reach out personally to members. You can probably find a few groups directly or closely related to what you're doing.

I wouldn't discount any method that's bringing you traffic currently as it sounds like you have a rare niche. Just work on making it bring in more. You seem to be throwing in the towel a bit early on methods instead of working on improving them.

I am familiar with your plight, targeted traffic is actually the golden fleece, what we all seek. I suggest you set up a great looking Facebook page, I know you are in a disease niche, but you can still use attractive graphics-I mean a Facebook 'Extra' page, community causes and celebrities template-then stock the page with great content relevant to your niche people, videos, helpful articles, discussions of therapies and so-forth; then set up a 5 day advertising program, using FB's laser targeting ads tools-keep building this when you have the advertising doh-I predict a thriving community in 6 months.
and with a community you can direct them to a squeeze page embedded in your HTML tab, you can direct them wherever.

Giving away free ebook for list building is still effective, you need more traffic. e.g: If you want 100 new leads, maybe you need 1,000 visitors to get 100 new leads.

And you need to display screenshot or image to persuade people to join your list.

Try having a funny or maybe a situational or testimonial type video made.
Check out fiverr, they have some good video producers

I find that you need half a dozen tactics running along side each other. I use Google Calendar to map out my traffic and list building efforts and I set reminders for want to do at what time and what day.

I try to network via forums for a couple of hours a day. I buy weekly banner ad spots that started out monthly but increased as my biz earned more money. I also buy solo ad's weekly if I can that again started as a monthly thing.

The important thing is to plough the profit back in to build your business and test everything.
