Is it time for you to edit your Google Dictionary?

Hi All,

If you are like me you can't do without your Google spell check. I'll be posting here and the spellcheck will tell me that Geroge is wrong. I click Geroge and the popup window appears and being quick on the trigger I click add to dictionary instead of George, because many times add to dictionary pops up right under my cursor.

Now forevermore when I type in Geroge it doesn't get flagged as a misspelling.

In time there can be dozens of misspelled words on the OK list.

Here is the solution.

Open your browser paste in

"%HOMEPATH%\Application Data\Google\User Dictionary.txt" without quotes.

A text file will open and you can delete any words you want to. For that matter you can add words too. Close the text doc click save. That's it.

Sorry if my post is confusing.

No, Misspelled words are not already in the dictionary. Maybe I'm the only one but when I run the google spell check it highlights the misspelled word so that I can correct it.

Many times the pop up lands the "add to dictionary" right under my cursor and I'm too quick to click. The misspelled word is then added to the dictionary. Now it won't in the future recognize the word as being misspelled and just let pass.

On the other hand I might add a word my self on purpose by purposely clicking "add to dictionary" I might want to spell PayPal money Play Pal money for a series of posts I'm doing, I might want to be left alone when I spell ebook, eBook, Ebook and not be notified that my spelling is wrong so I add to dictionary. (by the way PayPal comes up as a misspelling and Google doesn't )

Over a year you can get a hundred or so words added to the dictionary, my OP is just a way to make sure your dictionary serves your purpose.
