Moving an article to another blog?

Hi Guys,
My question would be if it is OK to delete one post that was already indexed and bringing some traffic, to another website.
The reason to move is that I find it more relevant for the readers of my new site.
How will Google look at this move? is it safe or not?
Thanks

You can do this for sure. You just need to handle it the way Google prefers.

I believe Google prefers you do a 301 redirect for pages that have permanently moved.

So move the page, then on the site where the page used to be, put in a 301 redirect that points to the new site/page.

    What's a 301 Redirect?

How to do it depends on your site. Here's a page that covers lots of possibilities

why not just rewrite the post slightly differently and put it on the new blog, with all the pertinent information included ?

It's no big deal if you delete and repost it on another site. It goes well with Google.

The only downside is you might lose your traffic level for that post and not be able to get it easily without some offpage job.

To be on the safer side you should add the new link to the first site.

And get a fresh content for the new site.

If you like the idea a lot, you can simply rephrase the text so that it does not appear like duplicate content. This is only a suggestion for you to avoid having to redirect users.
