Hi guys.

I'd like to have an ebook written, offer it as a free bonus pdf download.

I'd also like to kindle it, and sell it on Amazon.

Do I just receive this in a word format from my writer? And then convert into a pdf myself... no idea how to do kindle, can't be that difficult, can it?

Also, how long should the kindle book be? is 20 pages, or 7,000 words ok, could I sell that for .99c?

If you offer the same book for free on another website and have it on Kindle, Amazon will most likely make your book free. I think it's easier to just write the book in MS Word, save it in a doc file and upload it to Amazon and then let them covert it, that's kinda what I do. I think the length of a book should be at least 30 pages or more. If you are not looking to make high royalties, yes 99 cents will do, but if you want a profit $2.99 is great.

I don't think there's any reason why you can't sell it on amazon as a Kindle book, plus give away free as a PDF as a bonus.

You should be able to find out all you need to know at kdp.amazon.com/help about the best way to format and submit your book. I'm looking into this myself, from what I can gather, it should be a basic word doc, with a contents section that doesn't show page numbers. Keep the formatting simple.

      Cheers guys.

Is it ok to add some affiliate links in there? I don't have an ereader, but I think a lot of them have wifi and browsers?

I'm not sure about the affiliate links - Amazon was cracking down on those a while ago.

However, you can and should invite people to a page on YOUR website where they can sign up for a special bonus report - and you can certainly include your affiliate links in there (and on your download page).

Just make sure the bonus report is different from the Kindle book. I know, more work, but it'll be so worth it. Also make sure it's something your Kindle book reader would really want.

        Good luck.

I have my ebooks on my own storefront, but bells bells, no sales or traffic, it's a new website. I also have them on Kindle, I had 1000 downloads or so with the free promotion, then spiked down to 3 or 4 sales only. I thought there'd be ongoing sales, this is not the case.
