I am finding out that having more pages on your site helps! Even if those pages don't have a whole lot of stuff, just having so many pages make search engines think that you must be a "big boy". They send you tons of traffic to all those pages.

So, if you have want to get traffic, create lot of pages.

So your site actually creates pages... from keywords that are typed into actual searches by actual people. So not only does it grow by itself but it grows into keywords that are already known to be keywords people are searching for.

That sounds, if I may say, pretty damn clever. Do you populate these new pages with "relevant content" somehow or just let them be?

What I do is that I show "similar keywords" so if you are looking at the ipod page, then similar keywords will show "next generation ipod", "ipod and iphone", etc.

But I need to find better way to fill those contents.....and have been thinking what should I do?

Yes, having a lot of pages does help for traffic in a way. If you get at least one vistor per page daily, you will average 500,000 uniques...

Half a million pages...? Good lord there's gotta be some real quality info in there? How long did that take you or was it bot generated?

I am suspecting it is bot generated to have that many pages...

User submitted content is probably the only way to get that many pages. I'm sure some sites like myspace, facebook, etc. have a lot more.

That many pages generates and distributes a lot of PR.

They would need to be real though.

    Congrats on that achievement

That's not a lot of pages, a scraper script can generate that in an hour or two- maybe less if on a powerful server.

I have sites with that many pages, but it don't mean jack.

        Visits matter, not pages

        Sales matter more...

Every page on your site that gets indexed has a pagerank value greater than 0. So the more content that you create, the more pagerank that your site will have. Then if you have a proper internal linking structure and the right anchor text, you can cause certain pages on your site to rank well for your targeted phrases. Normally you dont get lots of pages indexed without external linking though, so you if you have 1/2 million indexed, you prob have some good external links to your site as well.
